Programme Agenda
12:10 INTERACTIVE WORKSHOP: FUTURE OF EUROPE AND
OPPORTUNITIES FOR GROWTH
12:40 NETWORKING LUNCH
13:40 KEYNOTE: UK DIGITAL STRATEGY
Chris White MP, Member of Parliament for Warwick and Leamington
and Business, Innovation and Skills Committee Member - UK Parliament
13:50 THE IMPACT OF DIGITAL DISRUPTION ACROSS INDUSTRY
The Internet of Intelligent Things
Adrian Drozd, Research Director, ICT Europe, Frost & Sullivan
Artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT) will be the
two most important developments that will impact across industry
sectors over the next five years. Frost & Sullivan believes that to look
at these trends separately is to miss the wider industry implications.
The Internet of Things cannot reach its potential without artificial
intelligence, and artificial intelligence can only become a reality by
accessing the data generated from the Internet of Things. This symbiosis
will create, ultimately, the Internet of Intelligent Things.
Digital Transformation in Aerospace
Steven Webb, Vice President, Aerospace, Defence & Security,
Frost & Sullivan
Digital transformation affects every facet of the Aerospace industry.
The infusion of digital in the Aerospace supply chain allows the
optimisation of processes, the enhancement of existing revenue
streams, the introduction of new business models and presents an
opportunity to further improve the customer experience. Aerospace
OEMs, Airlines and Airports are three key user groups of digital
technologies and all have seen radical transformation in the way they
do business. We are now witnessing OEMs investing in building their
software and analytics capabilities, whereas Airlines and Airports are
using digital to better connect with their customers onboard and on
the ground. The presentation will focus on the opportunities and
challenges presented by this transformation in the commercial
aerospace supply chain.
Internet of Medical Things
Dorman Followwill, Senior Partner and Director, Frost & Sullivan
The great Healthcare challenge facing humanity can be summarised in
one Big Question: how can we deliver high quality care to every
patient globally in a sustainably affordable way? One key solution will
be the digital technologies revolutionising the Healthcare world. As we
move beyond simple drugs and devices through to integrated
solutions, the pathway to the future will be the digital experience. Key
to this will be Artificial Intelligence to streamline data gathering and
processing, to integrate disparate data sets into seamlessly
interoperable solutions, and to provide analytics that make this data
useful across the Internet of Medical Things - a new platform for
combining wearables, home based patient monitoring and diagnostic
devices, all the various clinic and hospital data sets into one platform
large and versatile enough to help us rise to the great Healthcare
challenge and turn it into a legendary opportunity for the future of
humanity.
IoIT and the Third Industrial Revolution: "One Foot in Today and
the Other in Tomorrow"
John Fleming, Former Executive Vice President, Global Manufacturing
and Labor Affairs, Ford Motor Co.
This presentation starts to explore how Manufacturing and Business
Leaders should think about how to deliver on the current business
plans while preparing for the potential revolution that could change
Manufacturing forever. It asks the following questions, while further
featuring Ford's case study of the aluminium lightweighting
transformation of the company's F-150.
• How different will it really be?
• Who and What needs to change?
• What would the New Manufacturing World look like?
Future of Manufacturing
Muthukumar Viswanathan, Practice Head, Frost & Sullivan
European factories of the future will be driven by their ability to
leverage vital big data and utilise best-in-class information and
communication technologies on the shop floor. Hear about the
implications of modernisation in the age of Industry 4.0 and gain
strategic insight into how current government programmes are
dynamically transforming the manufacturing industry. This presentation
will address some of the critical questions that businesses involved in
Europe’s futuristic industrial market are asking.
Digital Transformation in the Energy Sector
John Raspin, Partner, Energy & Environment, Frost & Sullivan
The energy sector has traditionally been slow to embrace advances in
technology. However, the advent of disruptive forces such as
distributed energy and the movement towards smarter grids is making
it imperative for utilities to act now. The success of utilities is thus
dependent on aligning their needs with the digital innovation being
offered by the vendor companies.
