More than 30 years ago, <strong>Toemar</strong> was the one of the very first companies to have firewood for sale and<br />
delivered to the residents of <strong>Mississauga</strong> and surround<strong>in</strong>g area, now called the Greater Toronto Area. Our<br />
very first customers back <strong>in</strong> the early 1980’s used our firewood to heat their homes. In fact, some<br />
residences <strong>in</strong> Old Toronto solely relied on this form of heat<strong>in</strong>g and as result we felt that it was imperative<br />
to make sure that we supplied firewood that was dried and aged properly.<br />
We remember at that time there was tremendous demand for our firewood because it had a solid<br />
reputation of provid<strong>in</strong>g the best burn<strong>in</strong>g experience. <strong>The</strong>re were times when we were mak<strong>in</strong>g deliveries<br />
until 10PM at night to make sure that we fulfilled our promise of same day delivery. Convenience and<br />
customer service has always been a core attribute s<strong>in</strong>ce the beg<strong>in</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g and we believe that you should treat<br />
others as you want others to treat you. Our unspoken motto at that time was we are not happy unless you<br />
are happy which still cont<strong>in</strong>ues today.<br />
How did we get the reputation for provid<strong>in</strong>g the best burn<strong>in</strong>g experience for firewood? Our firewood is<br />
always aged at least for two years and rotated. Just like a great w<strong>in</strong>e from Niagara-on-the-Lake, we let<br />
nature takes it course by properly stack<strong>in</strong>g the firewood <strong>in</strong> rows. We make sure that firewood has optimal<br />
sun exposure and maximum airflow to allow for proper and consistent ag<strong>in</strong>g of the firewood result<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> a<br />
moisture level around 20% or less. It is a labour <strong>in</strong>tensive process just like mak<strong>in</strong>g great w<strong>in</strong>e. We take<br />
great care <strong>in</strong> mak<strong>in</strong>g sure that you enjoy the warmth of the fire <strong>in</strong>stead of air<strong>in</strong>g out your home.<br />
