10. FOR OVEREXCAVATION LIMITS SHOWN IN TYPICAL SECTIONS, EXCAVATE 4' BELOW<br />

FINAL FINISHED GRADE UNDER THE ENTIRE WIDTH OF PROPOSED PAVEMENT AND<br />

REPLACE TO THE GRADING PLANE WITH SOIL THAT HAS A MINIMUM R VALUE OF<br />

25 AND A PI LESS THAN OR EQUAL TO 12.<br />

11. UNSUITABLE MATERIAL MAY BE PLACED AS EMBANKMENT , BUT SHALL NOT BE<br />

PLACED WITHIN 4 FEET OF FINAL FINISHED GRADE BELOW NEW PAVEMENT .<br />

12. IF UNSUITABLE MATERIAL IS ENCOUNTERED AT THE PAVEMENT SUBGRADE LEVEL<br />

BENEATH PROPOSED PAVEMENT OUTSIDE OF THE LI MITS INDICATED ON THE<br />

PLANS, THE RESIDENT ENGINEER MAY DIRECT THE CONTRACTOR TO REMOVE AND<br />

REPLACE AS DESCRIBED IN NOTE 10 ABOVE.<br />

13. IN LOCATIONS WHERE TRAFFIC STAGING PLANS REQUIRE THE USE OF HIGH EARLY<br />

PCC FOR THE JPCP SURFACE LAYER, THE 0.25'HMA LAYER IN JPCP STRUCTURAL<br />

SECTIONS 1, 2, 3, AND 4 MAY BE REPLACED BY POLYETHELENE SHEETING BONO<br />

BREAKER AND 0.35' HIGH EARLY LCB AS DIRECTED BY THE ENGINEER.<br />
