Josephine Theresa Cavada (nee
Savala)
Josephine Theresa Cavada
(nee Savala), 86, of
Lockport, died Nov. 17 after
a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
She was born in Lockport
on Aug. 9, 1930 to parents
who immigrated from
Michoacan, Mexico in 1918
and was the youngest of six
children. She is survived by
her six children, RoseAnn
(John) Ties, Kathy (Richard)
Hugi, Bob (Lupe) Cavada,
Cindy (Kurt) Shroba, Bill
(Karen) Cavada, and Rick
(Karen) Cavada; grandchildren
Melissa (Ron) Tondini,
Samuel Hugi, Dan (Maria)
Mireles, Jonathon, David
and Christopher (Quyen)
Cavada, Kelsey (Francine),
Samantha (Prior), Theresa
and Justin Shroba, Tom Winnerowd,
Felicia, Mike and
Joe Cavada, and Kyle and
Kaitlin Cavada and her great
grandsons Zachary, Troy
and Sean Hansford and her
great granddaughter Isabella
Jones. She also leaves behind
numerous nieces, nephews
and cousins. Josephine
was baptized at St. Dennis
Catholic Church in Lockport
and attended Sacred Heart
School, graduated from
Providence Catholic High
School in 1948. She worked
at Florsheim Shoe Company
in Chicago, then as a “lunch
lady” at Lincoln-Way High
School, served as an election
judge at the New Lenox Fire
Station for many years, prepared
meals for the Priests
at St. Jude Catholic Church,
cared for the elderly as an
in-home Certified Nurses’
Assistant, and finally, retired
from Our Lady of Angels
Retirement Center in Joliet.
Services were held Nov. 22.
Rose V. Ambrosini
Rose V. Ambrosini, 95,
of Lockport died Nov. 18.
The lifelong parishioner of
St. Dennis Church had been
living at Sunny Hill Nursing
Home in Joliet for the past
four years. She is survived
by numerous nieces, nephews,
great nieces, nephews
and great great nieces and
nephews. Rose enjoyed
gardening, going to church
and having coffee with her
friends. She worked many
years at the Ace Hardware
store in Lockport. Services
were held Nov. 21. In lieu
of flowers, donations to the
family are appreciated.

Robert Bruce
Whyte, 86, died
Nov. 19 at Silver
Cross Hospital in Joliet
after a recent illness. He is
survived by Beverly (Pace)
Whyte; children Kim Mc-
Grath and David (Kelly)
White; grandchildren Kelsey
McGrath and Ethan and Jacob
Whyte; sister-in-law
Barb Whyte and brother-inlaw
LeRoy Pace; nieces and
nephews Janet Part, Dick

Whyte and numerous greatnieces
and great-nephews.
He was born Sept. 5, 1930 in
Joliet. He is a graduate of Joliet
Central High School and
Joliet Junior College. Robert
was a Corporal in the U.S.
Marine Corps and served
during the Korean War. He
worked for ComEd for 39
years, was a Charter Member
of Larkin Baptist Church
— where he was an Awana
Leader, Youth Leader, Sunday
School Teacher, Song
Leader, Choir Member and
Trustee. He was a fan of the
Bulls, White Sox and Bears
and loved dessert. Services
were held Nov. 22. In lieu of
flowers, donations to Child
Evangelism Fellowship of
Shorewood or to Missionary
Steven Khoury in care of
Ashburn Baptist Church of
Orland Park are appreciated.
