RONA ROSE I. ENRIQUEZ
When I was a child, we used to live in Antipolo City and I'm apart from my brother that time so I used to play “lutu-lutuan”
on my Papa’s backyard. My mom gave birth to my little sister Tracy and Ryza and they’re my new playmates that time.
We used to play hide and seek, “lutu-lutuan”, patintero and Chinese garter at our father’s backyard that’s why my parents
would usually get really mad at us because we destroy their crops. Until my parents decided to move out in Taytay and
that’s the start of my joyful childhood. My brother taught Tracy and me other outdoor games which improved our gross
motor skills. Our playmates are all boys that’s why we always left as “saling pusa” but that doesn’t stop me from learning the
game so I try to convince my kuya that I ca play that game too. During that time, we are engage to Sunday school and there
are times, the lecturer would be annoyed because of my endless follow-up question but she still answer me. My childhood
taught me to be more adventurous and give my heart in everything that I do because if I am that passionate towards something,
I always end up learning or having that.
I still remember what my father said when I
was 5 years old that “KAPAG MAIKSI ANG
KUMOT, MATUTONG BUMALUKTOT”
which I think is the most significant lesson in
my life. We have to learn to appreciate
things we have and do not look on the
lacks. Being contented will help us live happy.
As the time goes by when I was in elementary
and high school, I realized that we
have to BE OUR REAL SELF AND APPRECI-
ATE AND BE PROUD OF WHAT WE
HAVE because these are our assets and instruments
to achieve our life goals. I also
learned to MIND ONLY THOSE WHO
MATTER because there are time that people
will bring you down, discourage you or
destroy you but it is always our choice to
only mind those people who matter or who
will have a great impact to our lives. And
now, I think the lesson I learned is that trust
no one but yourself. At the end of the day,
only you who can save yourself from everything
and we only have to trust your instincts
and abilities in order to survive. Get
support from your loved ones but do not let
their expectation pressure you. BE GOOD
TO YOURSELF SO YOU CAN BE GOOD
TO OTHERS. IT IS ALWAYS
OUR CHOICE ON HOW WE
ARE GOING TO LIVE
OUR LIFE SO PREPARE
FOR THE FUTURE
AND LIVE LIFE TO THE
FULLEST.
I was a bit small and skinny when I was in elementary. Before entering kindergarten,
my mom already taught me proper way of handling pencil and correct way
of writing my name so when I enter Grade 1, my teacher would always compliment
my handwriting neat and beautiful. During that time, my teacher’s lesson in
mathematics was problem solving with a proper and step-by-step procedure.
Before starting the lecture, she will introduce new words, figures or symbols that is
not familiar to us and she will give 3 examples that would best explain them. I
was in 3 rd section when I was in Grade 1 and when I was promoted to Grade 2, I
am in first section and it explains that I am an achiever since that. My struggles that
time is I can’t really cope up to the section fast because they’re all performing well
and I was kind of shocked and intimidated. But when I was in intermediated
grade, I belong to Top 5 of the entire class and I got to join journalism that time
as a contributor. I even attended and won District and Regional Schools Press
Conference in Sta. Rosa, Laguna and I graduated with honor and I enter high
school as a pilot student.
I attended high school as a Pilot student wherein the school set a maintaining grade. As
you can see, I needed to be an achiever or else I will fail and demoted to regular section.
But being a studious student didn’t stop me from the joys of teenage years. I used to
spend most of my time with my friends instead of going home early. We love to eat
pancit canton and watch movies together. There are times that I will ask permission from
my mother to allow me during weekends to go out with my friends and we would
quarrel bout because she would say I'm with them the whole week and now I am asking
her to be with them again. This is also the time where I experienced heartaches but I am
not that kind of person who wasted time crying and regretting because I believe that
everything has its perfect timing and only God can manipulate that. I am an achiever yet
a naughty and sneaky one this time. I remembered when I was in first year, I fell in love
with arts and crafts. I love doing scrapbooks and projects and this is the start of me joining
contests about crafts like gift wrapping, paper folding and such. I also love braiding hair
that I won 3 rd on hair and makeup contest.
I am currently taking Education as a degree course and this is the most tiring yet fun activity I have ever
done. I am a class president and also an active volunteer teacher in a community outreach learning center
in school. The struggle of being a responsible student and a leader is real, I have to do and exert extra effort
for my tasks as a student and pass all my subject because I don’t like any delay on my graduation and I also
have to do my duties and responsibilities. There are times that I need to set academics aside and focus on
my leadership task. My only goal in life is to make everyone around me to be happy with what I have
achieved so I see myself working on an office or school for my loved ones and to fulfill my passion of
teaching kids soon.
