EDITORIAL
Welcome to Marrakech
In November 2016, the Ochre city is proud to host the COP of Action
and its activities, highlighting mobilisation in Marrakech around
the fight against climate change.
Marrakech, the “Pearl of the South”, also known as the “Ochre City”, is honored and
proud to host, in November 2016, the twenty second Conference of the Parties to the
United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP22). Delegations from all
over the world will gather for this international event to adopt further actions to address
climate change and its impacts on our planet.
Founded in 1071 by the Almoravid King Youssef Ibn Tachfine, the city of Marrakech
is recognized internationally by its unique history and legacy of dynasties.
Located at the base of the High Atlas Mountains, Marrakech is filled with places that
testify to its rich history and carry the traces of its multiple dynasties such as the Ben
Youssef Mosque, the Ali Ben Youssef Palace, the Abu Baker Kasbah, adobe walls,
monumental gates, Bab Aylan and its palm grove,
which were built under the reign of the Almoravids.

With its history and tradition of hospitality, Marrakech is a city of contrasts. On one side
there is the historic city center, with its medina and iconic Jamaa El Fna Square,
recognised as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, as well as its souks, the Koutoubia
Mosque and the Ben Youssef Medrasa. On the other side, there lies new city made
up of neighborhoods like Hivernage and Gueliz as well as the Majorelle gardens.
Marrakech, tourism capital of Morocco for over a hundred years, cunningly blends the
treasures of its age-old heritage with the vibrant energy of its inhabitants through its
contrast in colors – the ochre of its adobe city walls and its bougainvillea-covered
exteriors, from behind which great bouquets of palm trees and lush greenery burst forth.
The city is well known for its palm grove but also for its gardens and green spaces.
Amongst them, the Menara, Agdal and Majorelle gardens as well as Bab Idid olive grove,
which offer shaded and relaxing areas for visitors.
The extraordinary Marrakech experience will leave visitors with unforgettable memories.

Alma, Here Was an Ocean

Between reminiscence of lost oceans and the symbolism of our ecosystem’s
fragility, Alma is a giant helium-filled whale animated from head to tail
floating over the sky in Marrakech.
At the Official COP22 show, Alma will deliver a message of hope narrated
by Oum and Natacha Atlas. Twenty-two drummers of the Great Lakes Region
will bring rhythm to the evening while 55 dancers from every region of Morocco
will come together to meet Alma, the mother earth, the soul of the world.
The Alma show will be performed as the opening act of the Marrakech
Climate Show with Jamel Debbouze and Amine Kabbaj as Ambassadors
of this piece of art.

Marrakech Climate Show
During COP22, one of the most emblematic places in the city will be hosting a
free special event: the Marrakech Climate Show.
The El-Harti stadium will be hosting an exceptional show bringing together
international headliners and Moroccan artists to celebrate climate action while
aiming to convey a universal message to the audience.
In order to highlight solidarity, the performances will represent an eclectic mix of
cultures from around the world, with Moroccan and international artists
performing together to spread the message for climate action.
Initiated by the COP22 Steering Committee, this show is a co-production
between 2M TV and “Electrons Libres” of the Lagardère Group.

Akon Concert
To celebrate the COP in Africa, the Senegalese-American singer Akon will offer a
performance at the El Badi Palace, together with a line-up of African artists.
With his mother as a dancer and father as a percussionist, Akon spent much of
his childhood in Senegal. Not only recognized as a singer, songwriter,
businessman, record producer and actor, Akon is also known for his project
“Akon Lighting Africa” that seeks to bring electricity to millions of households in
Africa with solar energy.

11-12 November
FIA Formula E
Marrakech ePrix
For the first time, Formula E visits the African
continent, with the FIA Formula E Marrakech ePrix
taking place in Marrakech during COP22.
Under the high patronage of King Mohammed VI of
Morocco, the race will take place on the famous
Moulay El Hassan race track. Ten teams, twenty
world-class drivers and 8000kw of single-seater
racing power will compete on this 2.97 km
anti-clockwise circuit that previously hosted the
WTCC Race of Morocco.
Off track, an eVillage fan zone will showcase all-day
entertainment, live music, and interactive displays as
well as a dedicated children’s area.
A special documentary will be screened at COP22 on
November 13, detailing the achievement of Formula E
by featuring a Spark-Renault SRT_01E car on an ice
sheet in Iceland, in order to raise awareness on
climate change.
7-9 November
Paris-Marrakech Electric Vehicle Tour
The Moroccan Royal Automobile Club of Marrakech will host an Electric Vehicle Tour.
Two groups bringing together 14 cars, arriving from Paris, will be showcased during COP22:
- A group of 8 vehicles will be in the Blue Zone of the COP22 Village on November 7
- A group of 6 vehicles will be at El Harti square on November 9
13 November
Alliance Electric Show
A fleet of electric vehicles handled by experienced drivers will promote electric
transportation and the city of Marrakech during this awareness-raising show, organized by
Maison Renault Maroc.

Football (Soccer)
during COP22
Alongside COP22, several sporting events will
be held including football (soccer) matches.
November
On November 6 - a national holiday in Morocco celebrating the Green March - a
charity match between Morocco and players from around the world will take place
in Laâyoune, capital of the Laâyoune-Saguia Al Hamra region. International
champions including Diego Maradona, George Weah, Abedi Pele and Rivaldo will
participate in this game, taking place one day before the opening of the COP22
climate change conference.

On November 12, a World-Cup qualifier will oppose Morocco and Côte d’Ivoire at
the Grand Stadium of Marrakech.

FROM 8 PM
On November 18, the town of Laayoune will host another special event: the
Moroccan Coupe du Trône (Moroccan Cup Final). The match is scheduled to take
place at Sheikh Mohamed Laghdaf sports complex.
The futsal and Women’s Coupe du Trône final will also take place one-day prior.

Celebrating Marrakech
5-18 November
Traditional Moroccan music
at Jemaa El Fna square
Jemaa El Fna square will welcome an ensemble of 1,500 folk musicians who will perform
traditional Moroccan music.
Moroccan folk music and songs are very important in the lives of rural populations and
usually depict seasonal rhythms and natural manifestations. This hymn to nature
performed during COP22 comes from a vast diversity of influences from all of Morocco’s
regions.
Their show “A Hymn to Life” will liven up the famous square daily, featuring 12 regional
acts, alongside the usual performers.

Entertainment
in Public Gardens
Five main public gardens of Marrakech will host entertainment and activities for families
during COP22.
In the Allal El Fassi Garden, the Allal El Fassi Park, the Lalla Hasna Garden, the El Hari
Garden and the Menara Garden, families will have the opportunity to enjoy acoustic
music performances from several traditional ensembles and children can take part in
workshops aiming at raising awareness among youth on the importance of environmental
protection.
These green and environmentally friendly activities are organized and prepared by
artists, associations and schools from Marrakech and its region.

Artistic
Illumination
of Marrakech

During COP22, parts of Marrakech’s most
famous monuments will be artistically
illuminated in order to promote the city’s
cultural heritage and to pay tribute to
COP22.
The Marrakech train station, a mix
between modern and traditional design,
will be illuminated as a symbol of the
passing of time.
The portion of the famous ochre color city
ramparts will be illuminated with images of
endangered species.
The pool of the Menara, an icon of
Marrakech and symbol of COP22, will open
specifically in the evenings to share with
visitors a series of illuminations on the
water.

Mohamed El Baz’s
“The World Is a Stage / Door
of Heaven”
With the support of the Cherifien Office for
Phosphates (OCP) and “L’atelier 21”, the
Moroccan artist Mohamed El Baz will display
one of his works, “The World Is a Stage /
Door of Heaven”, during COP22.
An evocative and original sculpture that
defies its surroundings: The piece questions
life, the elements, the world, and humanity as
a whole with an unprecedented close
relationship with history and the earth. It is a
tribute to the people who shaped our
environment and made our way of life
possible. But above all, it is a call for a
moment of introspection.
The piece will be presented on the
esplanade of the Marrakech train station.

Handicraft and Local
Products Pavilion
Bivouac Lemounaouar and the
Development Agency for Southern Provinces
will organize a fair where participants will be
able to experience the handicraft diversity of
the 12 Moroccan regions through multiple
stands and animations.

The Moroccan painter and sculptor Mahi
Binebine will initiate the creation of a
sculptures park in the Bab Nkab Garden of
Marrakech during COP22. Major Moroccan
and local artists will participate: Abdelkrim
Ouazzani, Abdejalil Saouli, Mohamed
Morabiti, Soukaina Aziz El Idrissi, Ikram
Kabbaj, Hassan Hajjaj, Yasmina Alaoui,
Florence Arnold, Jean François Fourtou, etc.

Minyadina Trade Fair
The Ministry of Handicrafts and Social and
Solidarity Economy and the Craftsman's
House organizes the 4th edition of the
Minyadina trade fair in partnership with the
Federation of craft enterprises.
The fair aims to promote a sustainable
handicraft. It will take place on a
7,500-square metre space with 120 exhibitors
showcasing their creations (corner Avenue
Mohammed VI & Avenue Mehdi Ben Barka).

The Tree of Life
A work of art “The Tree of life” has been
offered by Mohamed Boukil, known as the
“Plasticien du sable” (Sand plastic artist). The
art work seeks to convey liberty, purity and
harmony with the environment. The Tree of Life
will be displayed day and night on Mohammed
VI Boulevard, in front of Bank Al Maghrib.

Museum of Contemporary
and African Art

The Alliances Foundation will launch the
opening of its new museum, the Museum of
Contemporary and African Art Al Maaden
(MACAAL).
The first exhibition of eighty works from forty
African artists, under the title “Essentiel
Paysage”, aims to enhance the
contemporary African creativity, in its
geographical and cultural diversity, focused
on sustainable development. With their
works, these contemporary African artists
symbolize the struggle against climate
change through committed pieces of art.
The MACAAL route is structured around 5
themes: “Told Nature”, “The Tree of Life”,
“Man and Sea”, “Recycle/Resist” and
“Aspiring Nature”.
The 800-square metre COP22-labeled
project, near the Al Maaden Golf and its
impressive sculptures park, will only be open
for private visits from November 7 to 14, and
then open to the public daily.

COP22 & Film4Climate
The Colisée cinema will host the
Film4Climate event, a film contest launched
during the 2016 Cannes Film Festival, at the
initiative of the World Bank and the
Moroccan Ministry of the Environment.
12 short films have been selected among
more than 800 proposals by a jury of
experienced professionals, including
Moroccan director Farida Belyazid and
chaired by the Italian film director Bernardo
Bertolucci. The winning films are to be
screened and celebrated during COP22.
A screening of “Demain” will also be
organized at the Colisée in the presence of
the crew.

ONCF Climate Train
From October 20 to November 18, the
Moroccan railroad company ONCF’s
Climate Train will travel through twelve cities
of Morocco in order to raise awareness on
the fight against climate change.
The Climate Train terminus will be at
Marrakech train station, where it will remain
during COP22.

Barid Al Maghrib
Ephemeral Museum
During COP22, and to
mark the release of a
special COP22 postage
stamp, Barid Al Maghrib
(the Moroccan postal
service) will create a
museum exhibition: “The
Postal City”.
Under a 1,000-square
metre tent, the museum
will trace the evolution
of the postal service in Morocco, through the
ages, since its inception in 1892 up till now.
The tent will house an exhibition space to
display philatelic works as well as a
conference area to discuss environmental
problems and solutions. A drawing contest
for children will also take place. The winning
children will see their artworks reproduced
as stamps.
The museum, located on the 16 November
Square, will be opened to the general public
from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm.

Architecture and Climate
The Marrakech National School of
Architecture (ENA) will organize several
exhibitions, workshop and conferences
during COP22. ENA will also host a side event
in the Green Zone on November 12 with a
series of conferences on "Cities and
Territories".
During COP22, The Marrakech Architects'
Association will also hold an international
conference on climate change in City Hall.

Climate Law and
Governance Day 2016
During COP22, the Private University of
Marrakech (UPM) will host a legal drafting
competition where 160 international
participants and 120 students from the UPM,
the Hassan I University of Settat and the Cadi
Ayyad University will compete. The theme of
the competition is “Climate Change,
Sustainable Development and Law:
Challenges and Innovation of Governance”.

Women Art Exhibition
The Grand Atlas Association will hold an
exhibition of fifty paintings made by
seventeen women relating to nature and the
environment. This exhibition will be held in
the Center for Women’s Education and

As an initiative of the
“Terre d'Ecole”
Association, an event
will be organized with
the aim of gathering
African children on the
16 November square.
All will share a truly convivial moment of
fraternity through the promotion of living

storytelling and health, will be held.
The closing ceremony will feature the
Canadian singer Edith Butler who will sing a

wearing traditional clothes from
participating countries. Guests will also be
able to appreciate two art installations, a
photo exhibition of the German
photographer Hans Silvester on climate
change, the reading of “Yassine”, and the
exhibition of a giant canvas painted by
Moroccan schoolchildren.

made available to environmental
associations in order to raise awareness on
climate change. The busses will contain
photographic and audio-visual materials
accessible to as many people as possible.

Volunteer Youth Brigade
Through the COP22 Civil Society Pole, a
brigade of young volunteers will tour the
streets of Marrakech to inform, direct and
assist COP22 participants
They will also be available to the public
requesting information during COP22.

Happenings at Bab Ighli
ART’COP22: International Exhibition of Contemporary Art
The Arkane Maroc Association will also organize an artistic event in the Green Zone: ART’COP22.
Over 500 m2, within the Civil Society zone, the association will present an international exhibition
with the theme "World Art Coop Expressions", as well as the second edition of Arkane - Afrika, an
exhibition dedicated to promoting African contemporary art. This COP22-labeled event will allow
participants to discover numerous paintings, photographic works, engravings and sculptures.
The Mediterranean Consortium for Nature &
Culture, WWF and DiversEarth collaborate to
produce "On the Move", an exhibition presenting
in the Green Zone the works of photographers
from six countries about ecological lives,
challenges and expertise of mobile pastoralists
in the Mediterranean Basin.
Lahcen Iwi will display in the Blue Zone his
creation made of recycled tires. With the
elasticity of the rubber, he creates vivid and
ultra-realistic animals, objects and characters.
The Danish artist Kasper Brejnholt Bak will
exhibit “Mind the Earth” in the Green Zone: a
work on selected images from Google Earth
accompanied by texts illustrating climate
change.
Echoing COP22 and its own engagement in
favour of a Moroccan sustainable craft
industry, Holmarcom Group will exhibit in
the Green Zone the work of seventeen
designers, all sharing a green creative
excitement, in a stand conceived by
designer Younes Duret.

In a space of more than 100-square metre
in the Green Zone, “Climate Change in
Lapland's Nature“ will present to COP22
participants an exhibition of 19 panels
about Lapland's hills, wetlands and forests,
and the effects of climate change.
The Blue Zone will also exhibit artists’ art
works and hold cultural events. Younes
Bakkali will show a painting on recycled
paper. In addition, the artist Fikri will
convert, in situ, the COP22 poster into an art
work through a recycled and printing ink
dilution process in the Green Zone.
In a 340-square meter area in the Green Zone,
20 prefectures and provinces will present the
National Human Development Initiative and
Sustainable Development Exhibition.
With support from the National Human Rights
Council, the CDG Foundation and the Ministry
of Culture, “Photo for My Planet“ is an
exhibition of pictures shot by professionals and
amateurs highlighting efforts and alternatives
against climate change, in the Green Zone.
Nordin Znati will present in the Blue Zone his
work made from used exhaust pipes turned
into phantasmagorical metallic animals.
The Universal Love Association, already
present at COP21, comes back to COP22 in
the Green Zone. Its message will heighten
awareness on “changing the lifestyle for the
climate” around a debate programme with
professionals and through exhibitions,
shows and workshops on local know-how.

The Blue Zone will host four exhibitions.
Paris Match
The French-language weekly news
magazine “Paris Match” will cover the walls
with a selection of photographic works:
thirty-eight historical pictures covering
seven themes:
- Morocco, a leading country
- Our planet in danger
- The fighters of ecology
- Animals at risk
- Demographic tides
- A rush to energy
- Growth of megacities
Royal
Air Maroc
Royal Air Maroc will cover the walls with a
selection of drawings about protecting our
planet, made on recycled paper by
children during their flights. The ten finalists
of the “Wings of African Art” contest will also
exhibit their work.

The French photographer, journalist,
reporter and environmentalist Yann
Arthus-Bertrand will also present his
photographic work with a selection of
thirty-nine pictures hanging in the Blue
Zone. Fifteen pictures will depict aerial
views of Morocco.

Barid Al Maghrib will exhibit in the Blue
Zone post stamps and philatelic items from
its wide collection spanning the modern
history of Morocco.

Marrakech Must-See Sites
Marrakech lies open to the air, and boasts numerous
gardens and green spaces in its old and new towns alike.
The Majorelle Garden

This enchanting spot, a symphony of light
and color, filled with exotic flowers, plant
life and alive with birdsong and the murmur
of fountains, was created by the French
painter Jacques Majorelle, who came to live
in Marrakech in 1922. The artist painted the
walls of his Art-Deco villa and garden a
vibrant and luminescent ultramarine. Set as
it is in the heart of an ochre red city, his blue
garden certainly raises a few eyebrows – it
is, however, the blue of Marrakchi skies! The
property now belongs to the Pierre
Bergé-Yves Saint-Laurent Foundation, and
houses an art museum along with the ashes
of the famous couturier himself.
The Palmeraie

The Marrakech Palmeraie covers some
14,000 hectares, includes over 100,000 trees,
and is very well worth a tour in the
traditional horse and carriage or on a
camel. The Palmeraie is irrigated by means
of “khettaras”, a system of underground
pipes supplied by groundwater.
Jemaa El Fna Square
Jemaa El Fna square is the living heart of the
city. It is on UNESCO’s Oral and Immaterial
Heritage list. Jemaa El Fna square owes its
fame to its size, its bustling activities and its
unique atmosphere. Open only to
pedestrians, it is a whirlwind of people to
meet and sights to see, scattered with
restaurant stalls offering an endless variety
of food and drink. Jemaa El Fna square
really comes to life at night, with locals and
visitors alike flocking to the terraces of the
cafes that surround it. There are storytellers
to listen to, fortune-tellers to consult,
acrobats to marvel at, and, of course, the
famous Gnaoua dancers, leaping back and
forth to the hypnotic rhythm of their
“krakachs” (metal castanets).

The Koutoubia
The Almohads started building the
Koutoubia in 1150, it took them 40 years to
complete. With its simplistic design, highly
sophisticated decoration and perfectly
balanced proportions, it is regarded as one
of Maghreb’s most beautiful monuments. It
served as a model for two sister mosques,
the Giralda in Seville and the Hassan Tower
in Rabat. Its 77-metre high minaret can be
seen from 25 km away and is lit up in the
evenings; it becomes the city’s “spiritual
lighthouse”.
Artisan Ensemble
of Marrakech
Over 5000-square metre, 40 areas
dedicated to the many traditional
handicraft sectors of Morocco, hosting
more than 130 artisans.

Located near Bab Agnaou, the Saadian
Tombs are a royal necropolis (14th to 16th
century) adorned with columns of Italian
marble and topped by a finely worked
cedar wood cupola. Not far away stand the
imposing ruins of the El Badi Palace, once
regarded as the wonder of the Muslim world
and a source of meditation. Only its high
walls remain, popular as a nesting place for
the region’s storks.

The Menara Gardens
If it is a bit of peace and quiet you are after,
then the Menara Gardens are just what you
are looking for. The Almohads built a
graceful summer pavilion there in the 14th
century, its reflection shimmering on the
waters of an artificial lake surrounded by
an immense garden planted with olive trees.
As night falls, the place becomes a
wonderland, aglow with every shade of
gold. The lake serves as a reservoir for
irrigating the olive grove, and is supplied by
a 700-year-old hydraulic system that
harnesses water from the mountains and
delivers it through 30 km of pipes.

The Arsat Moulay
Abdessalam Cyber Park
Arsat Moulay Abdessalam is one of the
oldest of the city’s parks, dating back to the
18th century. Since its restoration, however,
it also happens to be the most modern, with
interactive multimedia terminals installed
along its pathways and Internet equipment
on hand boasting the very latest in
technology. You’ll find excellent virtual
guides to the city and to the park itself, with
full information on its history and the many
species of flora to be found there, as well as
on the city’s cultural life.
The Medina
There is nothing like wandering through the
medina’s souks if you want to get a real idea
of the richness of Marrakchi craftsmanship
and experience the extraordinary
know-how of the city’s master craftsmen.
These are some of the finest souks in
Morocco, renowned for their diversity and
lively atmosphere. They are divided into
different categories – souk Cherratine for
fine leather goods, Zrabi for carpets,
Fekharine for pottery, Sebbaghine for dyers,
Seffarine for copperware, and so on...
The Agdal Garden is the oldest garden of
Marrakech. Its creation dates back to the
12th century during the reign of Almohad
Caliph Abd el-Moumen. Made of hundreds
of pomegranates, orange, apricot, and
olive trees, the garden is irrigated by water
from the High Atlas. The mountains are
close and you can admire the panoramic
sight of the peaks beyond the tree tops.
The Bahia Palace
Built in the late 19th century by the architect
El Mekki, as a residence for the Vizier, Ba
Ahmed Ben Moussa, the palace is a true
masterpiece, remarkable for the
sophistication of its decor, its gardens,
fountains and tree shaded courtyards, and
also for its architectural design. It took
seven years to build.

Marrakech Surroundings
Lake Lalla Takerkoust
A trip to Lake Lalla Takerkoust, 40 km from
Marrakech, makes a refreshing outing and
you can explore the surrounding
countryside by foot, quad, or cross car, and
savor the local cuisine at one of the inns
along the lakeshore, while enjoying the
superb views they afford.
The Toubkal National Park
The Toubkal National Park begins in the
central High Atlas Mountains, between the
N’Fiss and Ourika Valleys. Its 38,000 hectares
boast a remarkable biodiversity – green
oaks, thujas, junipers and herbaceous
plants, many species of birds of prey,
including royal eagles, booted eagles and
Bonelli’s eagles, along with such rarities as
Barbary sheep, lynxes and Cuvier’s gazelles.

The Ourika Valley
30 km south of Marrakech, the Ourika
Valley lies within the first foothills of the High
Atlas mountains, a beautiful expanse of
luxuriant green, its adobe villages clinging
to the mountainsides. The road stops at the
end of the valley, but the more adventurous
can continue by foot to the seven waterfalls
that await their discovery.
Tizi-n-Test and Tizi-n-Tichka
Two passes cross the High Atlas into the
deep South. Tizi-n-Test links Marrakech to
Taroudant while Tizi-n-Tichka takes you to
Ouarzazate. The Tizi-n-Test road is one of
the most spectacular in Morocco, climbing
the mountain slopes through magnificent
scenery to a height of 2092 meters and
offering breath-taking views over the Souss
Valley. The Tizi-n-Tichka road runs through
the pass at an altitude of over 2300 meters,
through mineral-grey lunar landscapes that
gradually take on ochre tones as you
descend to Ouarzazate.
The Bio-aromatic Garden
35 km south of Marrakech, in the city of
Tnine Ourika in the Valley of Ourika, lays the
Bio-aromatic Garden. Over an area of 1 ha,
it grows more than 45 varieties of aromatic,
medicinal and decorative plants, which you
are invited to taste and smell.
The Saffron Garden
The “Jardin du Safran” in the village of
Tnine Ourika is a saffron farm open to
visitors. In this peaceful haven, you will find
an educational area accessible to all,
allowing you to find out more about the
spice also called the “red gold”.
Anima's Fanciful
Wildlife Garden
Created by André Heller, the Anima garden
is filled with exuberant plants and flowers,
adapted to the region's climate and
irrigated with rainwater. Since its opening,
the garden has enhanced the animal and
plant biodiversity.

The Ouzoud waterfalls
Morocco’s most famous waterfalls are well
worth the 150-km drive from Marrakech.
Once past the village of Ouzoud, you carry
on downwards, along a well-maintained
road lined with olive trees, until you come to
the foot of the falls themselves. Some 110
meters high, their waters tumble from one
level to the next, their fine spray adorning a
permanent rainbow halo. You can enjoy a
swim there, while observing the antics of the
local rhesus monkeys.

بحيرة الال تاكركوست
تقع بحيرة اللة تاكركوست على بعد 40
كيلومترا من مدينة مراكش،‏ وتعتبر وجهة
لمن يحب االسترخاء والتمتع بالمناظر
الطبيعية،‏ ويمكن للمرء استكشاف المناطق
الريفية المحيطة بها سيرا على األقدام،‏ أو من
خالل السيارات الرباعية الدفع،‏ وتذوق المطبخ
المحلي في إحدى الفنادق الممتدة على طول
البحيرة واالستمتاع بإطالالتها الرائعة.‏
منتزه توبقال الوطني
يبدأ منتزه توبقال الوطني من قلب جبال
األطلس الكبير بين وادي نفيس وأوريكا ويمتد
على 38 ألف هكتار ويتميز بتنوع غطائه النباتي
والبيئي حيث يحتضن السنديان،‏ العفص،‏ العرعر
والنباتات العشبية،‏ باإلضافة إلى العديد من
أنواع الطيور المختلفة،‏ بما في ذلك نسر الملك
وعقاب مسيرة صغرى وعقاب بونيلى،‏ باإلضافة
إلى حيوانات نادرة مثل الضأن البربري والوشق
وغزال كوفييه.‏

وادي أوريكا
يقع واد أوريكا على بعد 30 كيلومترا جنوب
مراكش،‏ ويوجد بين السفوح األولى لجبال
األطلس الكبير،‏ وهو فسحة جميلة من اللون
األخضر المترف،‏ والقرى ذات األبنية التقليدية
على سفوح الجبال،‏ وتتوقف الطريق عند
نهاية الوادي،‏ غير أن محبي المغامرة يفضلون
االستمرار سيرا على األقدام حتى الشالالت
السبعة.‏
تيزي نتاست وتيزي نتيشكا
هما فجان يقطعان األطلس الكبير إلى أقصى
الجنوب،‏ حيث يربط معبر تيزي نتاست مراكش
بتارودانت،‏ في حين يأخذك تيزي نتيشكا إلى
ورزازات،‏ وتعد هذه الطريق إحدى الطرق األكثر
إثارة في المغرب،‏ حيث يفرج تسلق السفوح
الجبلية عن مناظر ساحرة إلى أن تصل إلى علو
2092 متر لتكتشف مناظر أخاذة مطلة على
وادي سوس.‏ وتعبر طريق تيزي نتيشكا الممر
على ارتفاع أكثر من 2300 متر،‏ وتمتد على
طوله مناظر طبيعية باللون المعدني الرمادي
لسطح القمر الذي تتحول تدريجيا إلى لون
المغرة الصفراء مع ا قتراب من ورزازات.‏
حديقة األعشاب العطرية
على بعد 35 كم جنوب مراكش في مدينة
اتنين أوريكا في وادي أوريكا،‏ توجد حديقة
لألعشاب العطرية،‏ الممتدة على مساحة
هكتار،‏ وينمو فيها أكثر من 45 نوعا من النباتات
العطرية والطبية والزخرفية،‏ التي ندعوكم
لتذوقها وشمها.‏
حديقة الزعفران
حديقة الزعفران في بلدة اتنين أوريكا هي مزرعة
زعفران مفتوحة للزوار،‏ تضم مرفقا تعليميا
مفتوحا للجميع يمكن من التعريف بمزايا هذه
النبتة المعروفة ب«الذهب األحمر«.‏
حديقة الحياة البرية أنيما
الحديق،‏ التي أنشأتها أندريه هيلر،‏ تغض بالنباتات
والزهور التي تتكيف مع مناخ المنطقة ويتم
ريها بمياه األمطار.‏ منذ افتتاحها،‏ ساهمت
الحديقة في تعزيز التنوع الحيواني والنباتي.‏

شالالت أوزود
تستحق الشالالت األكثر شهرة في المغرب أن
يقطع المرء 150 كم بالسيارة من مراكش
للوصول إليها،‏ وبمرورك بقرية أوزود،‏ يمكنك
االستمرار نحو األسفل،‏ على طول الطريق التي
تتناثر على جنباتها أشجار الزيتون،‏ إلى أن تصل
إلى سفح الشالالت.‏ وبعلو يبلغ نحو 110 مترا،‏
تتدفق مياه الشالل من مستوى إلى آخر،‏ ويزين
رذاذها المشهد بهالة دائمة من قوس قزح.‏
ويمكن للمرء االستمتاع بالسباحة هناك.‏

ضريح السعديين وقصر البديع
على مقربة من باب أكناو،‏ يوجد ضريح
السعديين وهو مقبرة ملكية كبيرة ‏)من
القرن ال 14 إلى القرن ال 16( تزينها أعمدة من
الرخام اإليطالي،‏ وتعلوها قبة من خشب األرز
المصنوعة بدقة.‏ وغير بعيد منها توجد أطالل
قصر البديع المهيبة،‏ والذي كان واحدا من
عجائب العالم اإلسالمي،‏ ومصدرا للتأمل في
األمجاد الغابرة.‏ ولم يتبق منه اليوم سوى
جدرانه العالية،‏ التي أصبحت معروفة كمكان
تعشش فيه لقالق المنطقة.‏
حدائق المنارة
إذا كان ما تبحث عنه هو بعض من السالم
والهدوء،‏ فحدائق المنارة هي وجهتك،‏ وقد بنى
الموحدون فيها جناحا صيفيا جميال في القرن
الرابع عشر،‏ حيث يلمع انعكاسه على مياه
بحيرة اصطناعية،‏ تحيط بها حديقة كبيرة زرعت
فيها أشجار الزيتون.‏ وما أن يحُ‏ ل الليل،‏ حتى
يصبح المكان عجائبيا،‏ ويتوهج بظالل ذهبية.‏
وتؤدي البحيرة دور صهريج يروي أشجار الزيتون،‏
وهي مزودة بنظام هيدروليكي ذي سبع قرون
يجلب المياه من الجبال عبر أنابيب على طول 30
كيلمترا.‏
حديقة أكدال
عرصة موالي عبد السالم
تعد عرصة موالي عبد السالم من أقدم الحدائق
في المدينة ويعود تاريخها للقرن الثامن عشر.‏
منذ ترميمها،‏ أصبحت أكثر حدائق المغرب تطورا
بفضل الوسائط المتعددة التفاعلية المثبتة
على طول مساراتها وتزويدها بمعدات االتصال
بشبكة اإلنترنت،‏ وستجد في الحديقة معلومات
عن المدينة والحديقة وتوضيحات حول أنواع
النباتات بالحديقة ومعلومات عن األنشطة
الثقافية التي تنظم بالمدينة.‏

المدينة القديمة
إذا كنت ترغب في التعرف على كنوز المدينة
الحرفية عن كثب،‏ واختبار المهارات الفريدة
لحرفي المدينة األكفاء،‏ فعليك بالتجوال في
أسواق المدينة القديمة التي تضم أفضل
األسواق في المغرب،‏ إذ تشتهر بتنوعها
وأجوائها المفعمة بالحيوية.‏ وهي تنقسم
إلى أسواق مختلفة مثل سوق الشراطين
للمنتوجات الجلدية والزرابي والسجاد عالية
الجودة،‏ وسوق الفخارين للمنتوجات الفخارية،‏
وسوق الصباغين للصباغة،‏ والصفارين للنحاس،‏
وما إلى ذلك...‏
تعد حديقة أكدال أقدم حديقة في مراكش
إذ يعود تاريخ إنشائها للقرن الثاني عشر في
عهد الخليفة الموحد عبد المؤمن.‏ الحديقة،‏
التي تضم مئات من أشجار الرمان والبرتقال
والمشمش والزيتون،‏ يتم ريها من المياه
المتدفقة من األطلس الكبير.‏ الجبال قريبة
ويمكنك االستمتاع بالمشهد الرائع للقمم وراء
فروع األشجار.‏
قصر الباهية
بني قصر الباهية في أواخر القرن التاسع
عشرعلى يد المهندس المعماري المكي،‏
ليكون مقرا للوزير با أحمد بن موسى،‏ وهو
تحفة حقيقية مبهرة من حيث معماره
وزخارفه ونوافيره وساحاته وحدائقه،‏ وقد
استغرق بناؤه سبع سنوات.‏

مراكش مدينة مفتوحة على السماء وتضم العديد من الحدائق
والمساحات الخضراء في المدينتين القديمة والحديثة.‏

حديقة ماجوريل
هذه الحديقة الساحرة ثمرة إلبداع الرسام
الفرنسي جاك ماجوريل،‏ الذي جاء للعيش في
مراكش عام 1922، وهي سيمفونية تجمع
سحر الضوء واللون،‏ وحديقة تأوي أزهارا ونباتات
من مختلف األنواع،‏ تمتزج فيها زقزقات العصافير
مع همسات النوافير،‏ وقد رسم الفنان جدران
قصره،‏ ذي أسلوب اآلرت ديكو،‏ باللون األزرق الزاهي
والوهاج.‏ وألن الحديقة تتموقع في قلب مدينة
مراكش،‏ فإنها تجذب الزائرين من كل حدب
وصوب،‏ وهذه الحديقة اآلن في ملكية مؤسسة
بيير بيرجي إيف سان لوران،‏ وتضم متحفا فنيا.‏
ساحة جامع الفنا
ساحة جامع الفنا،‏ القلب النابض للمدينة،‏
وضعتها اليونيسكو ضمن قائمتها للتراث
الشفهي وغير المادي،‏ وترجع شهرة ساحة
جامع الفنا إلى حجمها والصخب الناتج عن
نشاطها وجوها الفريد،‏ وكونها مفتوحة
للمشاة فقط،‏ فهي مليئة بالمرتادين
وبالمطاعم واألكشاك التي تقدم مختلف أنواع
الطعام والشراب،‏ وهي ساحة تدب فيها الحياة
ليال،‏ حيث يتدفق السكان المحليون والزوار على
حد السواء إلى شرفات المقاهي المحيطة
بها،‏ وتعج الساحة بمختلف أوجه الترفيه
من حلقات لرواة القصص لمن أراد االستماع
إليهم،‏ وبهلوانات،‏ وموسيقيين وراقصو كناوة
الشهيرون،‏ يقفزون هنا وهناك على إيقاع
الصنجات المعدنية.‏
بساتين النخيل
تمتد بساتين مراكش على طول حوالي 14 ألف
هكتار،‏ وتضم أكثر من 100 ألف نخلة،‏ وتستحق
أن يتجول فيها المرء على متن عربة تجرها
الخيول،‏ ويتم ري هذه البساتين عن طريق
الخطارات،‏ وهو نظام مبتكر لألنابيب المدفونة
المزودة بالمياه الجوفية.‏
صومعة الكتبية
بدأ الموحدون في بناء صومعة الكتبية عام
1150، واستغرق تشييدها 40 عاما،‏ وهي،‏
بتصميمها البسيط ورونقها وشموخها،‏ من بين
أجمل المعالم في المغرب،‏ وقد كان مسجد
الكتبية نموذج لمسجدين شقيقين،‏ وهما
الخيرالدا في أشبيلية وحسان في الرباط،‏ ويمكن
رؤية الصومعة ذات ال‎77‎ مترا من على بعد 25
كم،‏ وتضفي اضاءتها في المساء طابعا خاصا
يجعل منها ‏»المنارة الروحية«‏ للمدينة.‏
لقاء الحرفيين في مراكش
على مساحة تمتد على أكثر من 5000 متر مربع،‏
سيتم تجهيز 40 منطقة مخصصة لمختلف
الحرف اليدوية التقليدية المغربية الستقبال أكثر
من 130 حرفي.‏

ستحتضن المنطقة الزرقاء أربع معارض
‏»باري ماتش«‏
ستعمل األسبوعية الفرنسية ‏»باري ماتش«‏ على
تزيين الجدران بمجموعة مختارة من األعمال
التصويرية،‏ يبلغ عددها ثمانية وثالثون صورة
تاريخية تغطي سبعة مواضيع:‏
- المغرب،‏ دولة رائدة
- كوكبنا في خطر
- مقاتلو البيئة
- الحيوانات المعرضة للخطر

بمسابقة ‏»أجنحة الفن اإلفريقي«.‏

خمسة عشر صورة لمناظر جوية بالمغرب.‏

كما سيعرض بريد المغرب على جدران المنطقة
الزرقاء الطوابع البريدية من مجموعته الواسعة
التي تسلط الضوء على التاريخ الحديث للمغرب.‏

األنشطة التي سيحتضنها باب ‏ٕايغلي
ART’COP22 المعرض الدولي للفن المعاصر
تنظم جمعية أركان المغرب حدثا فنيا كبيرا في المنطقة الخضراء:‏ .ART’COP22 على مساحة تمتد على
500 متر مربع في المنطقة المخصصة للمجتمع المدني،‏ وستقدم الجمعية معرضا دوليا تحت شعار ‏»التعابير
المشتركة لعالم الفن«،‏ باإلضافة إلى النسخة الثانية من أركا-‏ أفريكا،‏ وهو معرض مخصص لتشجيع الفن
اإلفريقي المعاصر،‏ وسيمكن هذا الحدث المشاركين من اكتشاف العديد من اللوحات واألعمال الفوتوغرافية
والنقوش والمنحوتات.‏

باك ‏»اهتموا باألرض«‏ في المنطقة الخضراء:‏
عمل يتشكل من صور من برنامج جوجل أورث
مرفقة بنصوص توضح تغير المناخ.‏
على مساحة أكثر من 100 متر مربع بالمنطقة
الخضراء،‏ سيقام معرض ‏»تغير المناخ في
طبيعة البالند«‏ يتكون من 19 لوحة حول البالند
وأراضيها الرطبة وغاباتها وآثار التغير المناخي.‏
تعاون اتحاد البحر األبيض المتوسط للطبيعة
والثقافة والصندوق العالمي للطبيعة و
DivesEarth- إلنتاج ‏»على الطريق«،‏ وهو معرض
لمصورين من ست دول حول الحياة البيئية
والتحديات وخبرات الرعاة المتنقلين في حوض
البحر األبيض المتوسط وذلك بالمنطقة الخضراء.‏

تشجيع استدامة الصناعة التقليدية المغربية،‏
ستعرض مجموعة هولماركوم في المنطقة
الخضراء أعمال سبعة عشر مصمما يتقاسمون
حب اإلبداع البيئي.‏

يونس البقالي لوحة على ورق معاد تدوي،‏
ويسقدم الفنان فكري عرضا يحول فيه
ملصقة COP22 إلى لوحة فنية عبر تخفيف
الحبر وذلك بالمنطقة الخضراء.‏
وعلى مساحة 340 متر مربع في المنطقة
الخضراء،‏ ستقدم 20 عمالة وإقليم معرضا
لمبادرات التنمية المستدامة و المبادرة
الوطنية للتنمية البشرية.‏
وبدعم من المجلس الوطني للحقوق اإلنسان
ومؤسسة صندوق اإليداع والتدبير ووزارة الثقافة،‏
ستستقبل المنطقة الخضراء عرض ‏»صورة من
أجل كوكبي«،‏ وهو عرض لصور التقطت من
طرف مصورين حرفيين وهواة،‏ تصلت الضوء
على الجهود والبدائل لمكافحة تغير المناخ.‏
وسيقدم نور الدين زناتي عمله المتمثل في
إعادة استخدام أجزاء السيارات المستخدمة في
صنع أشكال فنية لحيوانات معدنية.‏
وستكون جمعية ‏»الحب العالمي«‏ ، التي شاركت
في فعاليات ،COP21 حاضرة في COP22 في
المنطقة الخضراء،‏ وستركز رسالتها على ‏»تغيير
نمط الحياة من أجل المناخ«‏ من خالل طاولة
نقاش مع المهنيين و معارض وورشات العمل
حول المعارف المحلية.‏

ستستضيف سينما كوليزي فعالية
،Film4Climate وهي مسابقة سينمائية
سيتم إطالقها خالل مهرجان كان
السينمائي 2016 بمبادرة من البنك الدولي
ووزارة البيئة المغربية.‏
وقد تم اختيار 12 فيلما قصيرا بين أكثر
من 800 من قبل لجنة تحكيم تضم
أعضاء مرموقين،‏ كالمخرج اإليطالي برناردو
برتولوتشي والمخرجة المغربية فريدة بليزيد ،
وسيتم عرض األفالم الفائزة وتكريمها خالل
فعاليات .COP22
كما سيتم عرض فيلم ‏»الغد«‏ في سينما

الجديد:‏ ‏»متحف الفن األفريقي والمعاصر«،‏
والذي سيقام على مساحة 800 متر مربع

الجولف المعادن وحديقته الرائعة الغنية
بالمنحوتات.‏
يهدف المعرض األول،‏ الذي يضم ثمانين
عمال ألربعين فنانا إفريقيا تحت شعار ‏»المنظر
الطبيعي األساسي«،‏ لتعزيز اإلبداع اإلفريقي
المعاصر في تنوعه الجغرافي والثقافي

ستنظم أنشطة ترفيهية بخمس حدائق عامة بمراكش لفائدة األسر خالل فعاليات

المدينة الحمراء من أجل إبراز غنى التراث
الثقافي للمدينة احتفاء بالمؤتمر.‏
كما ستعرف محطة السكك الحديدية
لمراكش ذات الهندسة المعمارية التي تجمع
بين التاريخي والعصري بأناقة،‏ وسيتم اعتبارها
رمزا لتعاقب األزمنة.‏
كما ستتم إضاءة أجزاء مهمة من األسوار
الشهيرة للمدينة الحمراء بصور للكائنات
المهددة باالنقراض.‏
و ستفتح أبواب مسبح المنارة،‏ أحد رموز

كرة القدم،‏ على هامش مؤتمر .COP22

ففي 6 نونبر،‏ وهو يوم عطلة وطنية في المغرب تخليدا لذكرى المسيرة الخضراء،‏
ستجرى مباراة خيرية بين المغرب وبقية العالم في مدينة العيون،‏
وهي عاصمة إقليم العيون،‏ الساقية الحمراء.‏
وسيشارك في هذه المباراة أبطال دوليون،‏ بمن فيهم دييغو مارادونا وجورج ويا
وأبيدي بيلي،‏ وذلك قبل افتتاح المؤتمر بيوم واحد.‏

وفي 12 نونبر،‏ ستقام مباراة تدخل ضمن تصفيات نهائيات كأس العالم،‏ بين المغرب

االتحاد الدولي لسيارات الفورموال إي في مراكش،‏ التي
ستنظم في مراكش خالل مؤتمر األطراف . COP22
وسينعقد هذا الحدث برعاية سامية من صاحب الجاللة
الملك محمد السادس،‏ وسيجري على مضمار السباق
الشهير موالي الحسن.‏ وستتنافس فيه عشر فرق،‏ وعشرون
سائقا عالميا،‏ وسيارات السباق ذات المقعد الفردي بمجموع
8 آالف كيلواط للسيارة،‏ في مضمار عكس اتجاه عقارب
الساعة على مسافة تبلغ 2.79 كلم،‏ والذي عرف استضافة
بطولة العالم لسيارات السياحة في المغرب.‏
وخارج المضمار،‏ ستقام قرية للمعجبين تقدم أوجه
ترفيهية مختلفة وعروض موسيقية وتفاعلية طوال اليوم،‏

من 8 سيارات في المنطقة الزرقاء لمؤتمر األطراف COP22‎في 7 نونبر،‏

ستستضيف إحدى أكثر األماكن رمزية بمراكش نشاطا مجانيا خالل مؤتمر األطراف الثاني
والعشرين،‏ يتجلى في عرض عن المناخ.‏
كما سيعرف ملعب الحارثي تنظيم عرض استثنائي يشارك فيه فنانون مغاربة وعالميون،‏
احتفاء بالحدث المناخي العالمي وتعزيزا للوعي بضرورة العمل من أجل الحفاظ على المناخ.‏
وتهدف هذه العروض لتسليط الضوء على أهمية التضامن بين شعوب العالم ومختلف
ثقافاته،‏ حيث من المنتظر أن يقوم الفنانون المغاربة ونظراؤهم من جميع أنحاء العالم
بأداء وصالت فنية لتعزيز الوعي بضرورة الحد من ظاهرة االحتباس الحراري.‏

بين ذكريات المحيطات المفقودة ورمزية هشاشة النظام البيئي،‏ ‏»آلما«‏ هو حوت عمالق
محشو بالهليوم يجري تحريكه من الرأس إلى الذيل ليطفو فوق سماء مراكش.‏
وخالل العرض الرسمي ل ،COP22 سوف يقوم ‏»آلما«‏ بإيصال رسالة مفعمة باألمل بصوتي
‏»أوم«‏ و«نتاشا أطلس«.‏ وسوف يضفي قرع اثنين وعشرين طبال انطالقا من منطقة البحيرات
العظمى رونقا على المساء،‏ فيما سيجتمع 55 راقصا من جميع أنحاء المغرب للقاء أم
األرض وروح العالم ‏»آلما«.‏
وسيكون عرض ‏»آلما«‏ بمثابة الحدث االفتتاحي لمؤتمر مراكش بحضور جمال دبوز وأمين
القباج باعتبارهما سفيرين لهذه الوصلة الفنية العابرة.‏

مراكش ترحب بكم
تعتز المدينة الحمراء باستضافة الدورة الثانية والعشرين لمؤتمر األطراف في االتفاقية
اإلطار لألمم المتحدة بشأن تغير المناخ )COP22( ، في نونبر 2015، وأنشطته وفعالياته التي
تترجم التزام الجميع بمراكش من أجل الحد من التغير المناخي.‏
وتتشرف مراكش،‏ ‏»لؤلؤة الجنوب«‏ الملقبة أيضا ب»المدينة الحمراء«،‏ وتفتخر باستضافة هذا الحدث
الدولي السنوي الذي سيجمع ممثلين لبلدان من جميع أنحاء المعمور بهدف تبني المزيد من
اإلجراءات لمواجهة التحديات الناتجة عن تغير المناخ وعواقبه على كوكبنا.‏
ويرجع تاريخ تأسيس مدينة مراكش إلى سنة 1071 على يد ملك المرابطين يوسف بن تاشفين،‏ وهي
معروفة على الصعيد العالمي بتاريخها العريق حيث اتخذتها العديد من السالالت التي حكمت
المغرب عاصمة لها.‏

وتعج مراكش ذات الموقع الجغرافي القريب من جبال األطلس الكبير بأماكن تشهد
على تاريخها العريق وتحمل بصمات السالالت المتعاقبة،‏ كمسجد بن يوسف،‏
وقصر علي بن يوسف،‏ وقصبة أبي بكر،‏ فضال عن أسوارها الشامخة
وبواباتها الضخمة كباب أيالن،‏ وكلها معالم شيدت في عهد المرابطين.‏
وتتميز هذه المدينة المضيافة الغنية بتاريخها وتقاليدها،‏ بكونها مدينة متنوعة
في مظاهرها العمرانية حيث تجمع بين األصيل والحديث،‏ فمن جهة،‏ تضم فضاءات
المدينة القديمة ساحة جامع الفنا ومسجد الكتبية ومدرسة بن يوسف،‏ ومن جهة أخرى
بنيت مدينة جديدة بها أحياء مثل إيفرناج وكيليز ومساحات خضراء مثل حدائق ماجوريل.‏
وتمزج مراكش،‏ العاصمة السياحية للمغرب،‏ بين كنوز تراثها التاريخي ودينامية ساكنتها وهو ما
تعكسه حيوية ألوانها،‏ فالمدينة لوحة فنية كبيرة يتمازج فيها لون األسوار البني المائل لألحمر
واألخضر الذي يميز فضاءاتها الخارجية وحدائقها المزينة بأشجار مختلفة يعلوها النخيل.‏
وتشتهر المدينة بالنخيل وبحدائقها ومساحاتها الخضراء الفاتنة،‏ كحدائق المنارة
وحدائق أكدال وحدائق ماجوريل،‏ باإلضافة إلى بساتين الزيتون بباب الجديد،‏
والتي توفر أماكن تبعث على الراحة والهدوء تحت الظالل الوارفة.‏
وتترك مراكش ذكرى خالدة لدى زوارها،‏ الذين غالبا ما يعودون إليها ألنهم في كل زيارة يكتشفون
تجارب جديدة في حين يفضل العديد من زوارها االستقرار فيها.‏
