A Guest lecture on “Being a women leader-
Work life balance”
The IEEE PES/IAS/PELS has jointly organized a seminar
with IEEE WIE Affinity group, Hyderabad on “Being a
Woman Leader: Work-Life Balance” on 13 th
july,2013.The esteemed speaker of the event was Dr. MINI
SHAJI THOMAS, Department of Electrical Engineering,
Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi, India. The
event progressed with the presentation of bouquet to the
guest Dr Mini Shaji Thomas, Dr Kaleem Fatima, Branch
Counselor IEEE MJCET, Dr Amit Jain, chairman
PES/IAS/PESL joint chapter Hyderabad section, Dr M.P
Soni Head, faculty of Electrical Engineering MJCET, Mrs
Ejaz Fatima, Chapter advisor PES, MJCET.
She spoke about the difficulties and the opposition she faced
from her colleagues during her work period. She also
enlightened us with her knowledge of overcoming the
difficulties she came across as a women leader. She shared
with us about the support she received from her family and
friends. She gave us solutions to the question of how to
manage time between her professional life and personal life.
The audiences present were glad to know how she became a
successful woman leader simultaneously balancing her
personal life.
Dr Kaleem Fatima wholeheartedly thanked Dr Mini Shaji
Thomas for the visit and sharing with us her experience. She
also thanked other dignitaries for attending the session.
Dr M.P Soni, Head faculty of electrical engineering
welcomed the guest, dignitaries, faculty and the students
from various colleges. He stated that it was indeed an honor
to Muffakham Jah College of Engineering and Technology
to welcome Dr Mini Shaji Thomas to share her experience
with us. Dr Amit jain, chairman, PES/IAS/PELS joint
chapter, Hyderabad section introduced the speaker and
thanked her for providing her valuable time.

The seminar started with Dr Mini Shaji Thomas introducing
herself and then she shared her personal experience with us.
Students and dignitaries who made this event successful
The presentation lasted an hour following some
interesting questions from audience. The event
was attended by 50 participants, including 40
undergraduate students and the lecturers of
MJCET.
