A Guest <strong>lecture</strong> <strong>on</strong> “Being a women leader-<br />

Work life balance”<br />

The <strong>IEEE</strong> PES/IAS/PELS has jointly organized a seminar<br />

with <strong>IEEE</strong> WIE Affinity group, Hyderabad <strong>on</strong> “Being a<br />

Woman Leader: Work-Life Balance” <strong>on</strong> 13 th<br />

july,2013.The esteemed speaker of the event was Dr. MINI<br />

SHAJI THOMAS, Department of Electrical Engineering,<br />

Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi, India. The<br />

event progressed with the presentati<strong>on</strong> of bouquet to the<br />

<strong>guest</strong> Dr Mini Shaji Thomas, Dr Kaleem Fatima, Branch<br />

Counselor <strong>IEEE</strong> <strong>MJCET</strong>, Dr Amit Jain, chairman<br />

PES/IAS/PESL joint chapter Hyderabad secti<strong>on</strong>, Dr M.P<br />

S<strong>on</strong>i Head, faculty of Electrical Engineering <strong>MJCET</strong>, Mrs<br />

Ejaz Fatima, Chapter advisor PES, <strong>MJCET</strong>.<br />

She spoke about the difficulties and the oppositi<strong>on</strong> she faced<br />

from her colleagues during her work period. She also<br />

enlightened us with her knowledge of overcoming the<br />

difficulties she came across as a women leader. She shared<br />

with us about the support she received from her family and<br />

friends. She gave us soluti<strong>on</strong>s to the questi<strong>on</strong> of how to<br />

manage time between her professi<strong>on</strong>al life and pers<strong>on</strong>al life.<br />

The audiences present were glad to know how she became a<br />

successful woman leader simultaneously balancing her<br />

pers<strong>on</strong>al life.<br />

Dr Kaleem Fatima wholeheartedly thanked Dr Mini Shaji<br />

Thomas for the visit and sharing with us her experience. She<br />

also thanked other dignitaries for attending the sessi<strong>on</strong>.<br />

Dr M.P S<strong>on</strong>i, Head faculty of electrical engineering<br />

welcomed the <strong>guest</strong>, dignitaries, faculty and the students<br />

from various colleges. He stated that it was indeed an h<strong>on</strong>or<br />

to Muffakham Jah College of Engineering and Technology<br />

to welcome Dr Mini Shaji Thomas to share her experience<br />

with us. Dr Amit jain, chairman, PES/IAS/PELS joint<br />

chapter, Hyderabad secti<strong>on</strong> introduced the speaker and<br />

thanked her for providing her valuable time.<br />

The seminar started with Dr Mini Shaji Thomas introducing<br />

herself and then she shared her pers<strong>on</strong>al experience with us.<br />

Students and dignitaries who made this event successful<br />

The presentati<strong>on</strong> lasted an hour following some<br />

interesting questi<strong>on</strong>s from audience. The event<br />

was attended <strong>by</strong> 50 participants, including 40<br />

undergraduate students and the <strong>lecture</strong>rs of<br />

<strong>MJCET</strong>.<br />
