<strong>University</strong> offers resources to support the success of students. Two of the most widely used resources are the <strong>Ashford</strong><br />

<strong>University</strong> <strong>Library</strong> <strong>and</strong> the <strong>Ashford</strong> <strong>Writing</strong> <strong>Center</strong>. The <strong>Ashford</strong> <strong>University</strong> <strong>Library</strong> SSO video provides a brief<br />

introduction to the <strong>Library</strong>. In the <strong>Writing</strong> <strong>Center</strong>, you will find information on topics like APA formatting requirements,<br />

grammar <strong>and</strong> punctuation rules, <strong>and</strong> sample papers for quick reference. Reflect: Consider how the <strong>Ashford</strong> <strong>University</strong><br />

<strong>Library</strong> <strong>and</strong> the <strong>Ashford</strong> <strong>Writing</strong> <strong>Center</strong> will help facilitate your academic success at <strong>Ashford</strong>. Write: Now that you have<br />

reviewed these resources, respond to one of the following options. ?Option A: <strong>Ashford</strong> <strong>Library</strong> On the <strong>Ashford</strong> <strong>University</strong><br />

<strong>Library</strong> homepage, click on <strong>Library</strong>U link on the right-h<strong>and</strong> side of the page. 1.Review several of the tutorials. Topics<br />

range from a learning about a digital library to finding peer reviewed articles. 2.After reviewing several of the available<br />

tutorials, select three to discuss in your response. Be sure to address the following: oExplain why you chose the <strong>Ashford</strong><br />

<strong>Library</strong>. oProvide a two to three sentence overview for each of the three tutorials you chose. oWhat were the two most<br />

important pieces of information you learned from each tutorial? oHow do you think students could use these <strong>Library</strong><br />

resources to be successful? ?Option B: <strong>Ashford</strong> <strong>Writing</strong> <strong>Center</strong> On the <strong>Ashford</strong> <strong>Writing</strong> <strong>Center</strong> homepage, click on the<br />

<strong>Writing</strong> Resources tab at the top of the page. 1.Browse through the first three categories (Types of College <strong>Writing</strong>,<br />

<strong>Writing</strong> Tools, <strong>and</strong> Grammar). 2.After reviewing several of the topics within each category, select three to discuss in your<br />

response. Be sure to address the following: oExplain why you chose the <strong>Ashford</strong> <strong>Writing</strong> <strong>Center</strong>. oProvide a two to three<br />

sentence overview for each of the three topics you chose. oWhat are the two most important pieces of information you<br />

learned about each topic? oHow do you think students could use these <strong>Writing</strong> <strong>Center</strong> resources to be successful?<br />

Respond to Peers: Review several of your peers posts <strong>and</strong> respond to at least two of them. One response should be to<br />

a peer who chose a different option than you. How could you use the information from the resources they discussed to<br />

help you improve your researching <strong>and</strong> writing skills? Think about it this way... This discussion is asking you to complete<br />

six tasks: 1.Carefully review the resources provided by the <strong>Ashford</strong> <strong>Library</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Ashford</strong> <strong>Writing</strong> <strong>Center</strong>. 2.Select one of<br />

the options (<strong>Library</strong> or <strong>Writing</strong> <strong>Center</strong>) <strong>and</strong> explain why you selected it. 3.Provide a two to three sentence overview of<br />

three of the tutorials/topics you reviewed. 4.List the two most important pieces of information you learned from each<br />

tutorial/topic. 5.Explain how the resource can help students be successful. 6.Respond to at least two of your classmates'<br />

discussion posts. Use the "Respond to Peers" to assist you with your reply. Click on the <strong>Writing</strong> <strong>Center</strong> tab in the left<br />

navigation menu to learn about resources that will help you improve your writing skills. Also: Grammarly is a great<br />

revision tool to use before you submit any discussion or writing assignment.<br />
