Kidney Infection Symptoms Glomerolunefritis
Glomerulonephritis is an StrictionBP
inflammation of both kidneys. It begins in the
glomerular or capillary spin. The first
symptoms are proteinuria and
bematuria.Acute glomerulonephritis occurs
one to two weeks after infection of the sky or
skin with beta streptococci. Streptococci will
not damage the kidney, but the antibodies
will. Antibodies are generated against certain streptococci membrane components.
Antigen-antibody complex travels in blood, and in glomerul it gets caught in basal membrane and
cause inflammation response. Glomerular filtration membrane becomes permeable to blood proteins
and blood cells, which appear in the urine. Acute glomerulonephritis is primarily a children disease,
but can also affect teenagers and young people.
Symptoms are proteinuria, hematuria, decreased urine output (oliguria), swelling, increased blood
pressure. General symptoms include: fatigue, fever, nausea, vomiting, headache, lack of appetite.
Typical symptoms are swelling around the eyes and face. Urine is colored brown or bloody. In the
urinary sediment are erythrocytes and different cylinders. Treatment requires a lot of resting, a diet
with a little salt, antibiotics, which kill streptococci and other medicines to reduce blood pressure.
Chronic glomerulonephritis is a slowly progressive disease that destroys glomeruls. Beginning of t
the disease is unnoticed. Patient is peeing too much (polyuria) or too little of urine (oliguria). Urine
contains proteins. The patient has increased blood pressure. Kidneys are highly modified, reduced,
the surface is not smooth but it is grainy. Chronic glomerulonephritis is common cause of death due
to kidney failure, need of dialysis or kidney transplantation.
