Program Notes "Little Sunflower" is a sister composition of my other composition"A Withering Sunflower with Uneven Legs." The piece portrays the assumingly optimistic character of sunflowers that point to the sunlight, a symbol of hope for many cultures. Suggested Instrumentation Part 1: Piccolo/flute/clarinet Part 2: Oboe/clarinet/flute Part 3: Clarinet in Bb/oboe/trumpet Part 4: Bassoon/Euphonium/Trombone Part 5: Alto Saxophone/Bassoon Part 6: Horn in F/Bassoon Part 7: Trumpet in Bb/Flute/Oboe Part 8: Trombone/Horn in F Part 9: Tuba/Bassoon Part 10: 2 Woodblocks - large and small *The first instruments listed on the "Suggested Instrumentation" are the original instrumetation conceived for Little Sunflower.
