Christmas in The House of Our Lady Help of Christians
Christmas bells were ringing, from the
East and from the West; Christmas songs
poured down from the highest heavens and
surged up from the wintery earth. That was
the day when the Son of Man was born, and
all human hearts opened up to Him in love
and thanksgiving, all human hearts yearned
for Him.
Thousands of sad, wounded hearts went
out towards Him. All the poor, the downtrodden,
the forsaken made a pilgrimage to
Him, an endless procession. All those who
had been battered by cruel fists, opened
their weary eyes and lifted up their wounded
arms; they carried their hearts towards Him.
The Crucified Man accepted everyone; He
forgot no one who came to Him, He gave
each one His precious gifts. And they were
grateful to Him and they trusted Him. The
Gift he gave them was worth more than all
the corrupt wealth sold by the corrupt lives
for the corrupt hearts. All those who were
touched by his merciful hand, who were
blessed by his look, had their eyes opened,
their burdens relieved and they jumped
for joy. The Eternal Man had given them
eternity. And whenever their suffering became
too hard to bear, their hearts went
up to Him, in the land of fulfilled hope and
forgotten suffering.
Christmas bells rang out from the East
and from the West and all over the earth the
wounded and downtrodden arose. Suffering
celebrated a great feast of hope and triumph;
those who realized that the road to eternal
happiness leads through Calvary, were
comforted beyond measure. Those, who
knew they were in Him and a part of Him,
because they where whipped and crowned
with thorns, stood proud and victorious.
This is how they celebrated the feast,
marking the beginning of the glorious journey
of the Son of Man. There was not a single
poor heart which did not rejoice; it barely
understood the joy that reached its pinnacle.
The downtrodden and forsaken could barely
realize the meaning, yet they felt as if in a
dream upon hearing the comforting words and
upon feeling his merciful Hand on their
troubled brow, on their shoulders, wounded
by heavy burdens. The earth down below
was in darkness, full of tears, blood
and ugliness; however, that night, thousands
and thousands of lights were lighted;
countless flames wafted up, trembling and
flickering and yearning towards heaven...
