Welcome everybody at last!
It´s been months since we set out to turn the
START Summit from a small happening into
the biggest student organized entrepreneurship
conference in Switzerland – and I feel
we have lived up to the challenge despite all
obstacles.
In many ways, we are a StartUp ourselves: a
team, that had to learn to work together, a
new problem calling for a solution behind every
corner and, of course, the big question how to
finance an event of this size. Thankfully, we had
great supporters from the startup ecosystem
who stood by our side and helped us overcome
smaller and bigger disasters. Thank you all –
especially our platinum sponsors Swisscom and
Seven Ventures - we couldn´t have done this
without you!
I hope, that you all will leave this event a little
more fascinated by the awesome world of
entrepreneurship and carry the START Summit
spirit out into the world. Enjoy!
Foreword
Alexander Keil
President START global
I would also like to extend a warm welcome
to all students, entrepreneurs, investors and
guests who came to visit us here in St.Gallen
from all over Europe.
Within the next two days, we shall be your host
for a fantastic conference. To be honest, we
have no idea how it will work out, but bringing
the hottest startups and a crowd of young
motivated students together felt like the right
thing to do.
Soak up as much knowledge as you can at our
speeches and workshops and don´t miss a single
chance to connect with other people just as
passionate about entrepreneurship.
Last but not least, simply have a blast here and
come back next year!
How to generate your
business idea
Fr 10.15-12.00 Room 22-104
Should I look for ideas from the US
on TechCrunch to establish them in
Germany? Should I work for an investor
to meet as many founders as
possible? And how can I discover and
develop my own business idea? This
workshop will answer your questions.
From an idea to a fully financed
Startup
our experience of founding a Startup
from the early stage to a fully financed
Startup. We show some insights of our
noknok story and how we convinced
the biggest German online real estate
market place to invest in us. Furthermore,
we give some examples of
our daily work in all channels like PR,
Product, Social Media and show how
we work together with our incubators
Learning from success and
failures
Sa 14.15-16.00 Room 09-012
Ventures fail more often than that
they implement the vision described
in the first business plan. An ambitious
entrepreneur fails, but if he is
smart, he doesn‘t commit the same
failure twice. Nicolas Berg shares some
case studies from his experience as
a serial entrepreneur, angel and VC.
