The kitchen addition to the pavilion has been
completed. The installation of doors on the
serving window and an entry door will allow
us to lock up the kitchen and supplies.
Speaking of the serving window doors, did
anyone notice the pictures that were laser
engraved into the wood? This is work worthy
of a hanging on the wall in some hunting
lodge. Thank you, Dusty Dee for this fine
addition to the serving doors!
There were several people that worked long
and hard to get this addition built on to the
pavilion. I offer a big cowboy “Thank You”
to each and every one that helped; Rowdy
Bob, Vigilante Hash Slinger, Irish John,
Rusty Redneck, Dusty Dee, Naildriver and
Christmas Kid.
Reminders:
August is another Hawaiian shirt month.
Cowboy hats and boots are required but
what is on in between is up to you. Most
shooters wear shorts and Hawaiian shirts.
However, there are a few strange ones out
there you can never tell what they will show
up wearing.
A special note needs to be added here. It was
brought to my attention afterwards, that
there were a few shooters not wearing hats,
some were wearing tennis shoes and one was
even wearing flip-flops!
I hold myself accountable for not noticing
these violations especially the flip-flops. It is
also the accountability of the ones that
noticed and did not saying anything. After all
we all know the rules (or should know them).
We have allowed these special dress shoots
during the summer to help keep shooters cool
so they will not over heat and get sick.
However, if we cannot follow the two basic
rules of the Hawaiian shirt months Cowboy
Hats and Boots we will dispense with this and
continue wearing the SASS recommended
cowboy clothes.
Work Day
July 17, 2010 will be workday at the range.
The plan is to finish rearrangement of the
targets, disbursement of city pit around the
stages and either hay or mulch around the
targets. Your help would be much
appreciated!
Shoot’n in the Shade update
As of July 10, 2010, we have 114 registered
shooters plus another 10-12 shooters with
verbal registrations but have not paid yet.
Remember confirmation is only guaranteed
with payment. Also, registrations after
August 16, 2010 will need to include an
additional $15.00 for late registration.
(1 st shooter $100.00 2 nd shooter $90.00)
