This pre-conference seminar is on Business Intelligence and Big Data. It is an introduction, but not a regular introduction. Dur-
ing the seminar we will introduce most of Business Intelligence and Big Data objects within the Microsoft stack, but the demos
will be advanced. Therefore you are welcome to sign up, if you want to discover what is in Business Intelligence and Big Data
and also see how we implement real solutions for our customers using best practices. The first section covers analytics for
structured data, loading the data warehouse, building the multidimensional and tabular objects, visualization and Self Service
BI. The second section covers unstructured data and how to integrate Big Data with your Business Intelligence applications.
Also data mining for structured and non-structure data will be shown.

Paco Gonzalez
Paco Gonzalez, who works for SolidQ, earned his Master’s degree at the University of Murcia, Spain,
and Kennesaw State University, GA. Now he combines his work at SolidQ with his PhD thesis,
“Analyzing Social Data.” He is an MCT and MCP Certified on BizTalk Server and SQL Server and works
in the integration and BI fields at SolidQ. Paco is the Pass BigData virtual chapter Leader. He is coau-
thor of Microsoft Training Kit 441. Paco delivered a session at PASS Business Analytics Conference held
in Chicago, April 2013.
Ruben Pertusa Lopez
Ruben Pertusa Lopez is a member of the BI team at SolidQ. An MCP and MCTS in SQL Server 2008 and
BI and a Microsoft Active Professional 2012, he also has a degree in computer engineering. Ruben has
been working in projects for leading retail and telecommunications companies around the world. He
has deep skills in BI performance tuning, cube design, and MDX. He has presented at the SQL Server
2008 R2 Spanish launch event, Microsoft’s Partner Program, and PASS Spain and LATAM events.
