Círdan the Shipwright is a Telerin Elf, a
great mariner and shipwright, lord of the
Falas during much of the First Age. He
was the bearer of the Great Ring Narya,
which he in turn gave to Gandalf.
Círdan had grey, or silver, hair in the
Third Age of Middle-earth, like his overlord
and kinsman Thingol.
He is one of the oldest Elves in middleearth
at the time when 'Lord of the Rings'
is set as he is also mentioned as being one
of the elves to awake at Cuiviénen.

Older Círdan - possibly the oldest
elf in middle-earth in the third and
fourth ages. One of the only elves
known to have a beard.
