University of Economics in Katowice was founded in 1937
and is the biggest and oldest business school in the
region, one of the top universities in Poland. Each year,
over 15,000 Polish and international students follow our
degree programmes at the Bachelor, Master, Doctoral and
Post-diploma levels. University’s excellence is confirmed by
full state accreditation in education as well as by top ranks
of the faculties within the national assessment system of
research institutions. According to yearly rankings related
to graduates' careers, the University is one of the most
successful Polish HEI's.

Drawing on its long history and traditions, our university
continues to grow and evolve implementing new ideas and
diversification in its study offer as well as participating in
various research and didactic projects. Within EU funded
projects we are able to offer to our students unique and
innovative courses as well as internships in major
enterprises in the region and abroad. Moreover, the
University is expanding its infrastructure with modern
facilities like Center for New Information Technologies or
Scientific Information Centre and Academic Library.

Each year, our research results in over 1 500 published
books, monographies, scripts, coursebooks, articles and
research papers. Thanks to the extensive research
expertise of our academic staff our students receive
education of the highest quality. Research conducted
at University's campus leads to new insights and questions
but also to practical advice and recommendations. Always

The heart of the University beats in the capital of Silesia,

University of Economics in Katowice is one of the funding
members of the SUN.
The main aim of this initiative is to increase the number
of international students and investors in Silesia by
intensifying international promotion of the wide spectrum
of courses, ranging from medicine, arts, sports, music,
biotechnology, humanities, ICT to economics, offered by the
member universities.

International exchange and degree-seeking students can
choose from a wide range of courses offered in English,
French and German. We offer Master and Bachelor degree
programmes, some of them provided jointly with such
institutions like Nottingham Trent University (UK), Brno
University of Technology (Czech Republic), FH des BFI
Wien (Austria), as well as network of state universities of
the Province of Quebec in Canada.
The students may also participate in language courses of
Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Polish, Russian,
Spanish, Ukrainian and Hebrew.
The alumni of those programmes are prepared to function
successfully in the ever more international market and join
the highly-qualified staff dynamically sought after by the
most important players in the job market.
