We have a range of support facilities in
place to guide you through your studies.
Student Advisers
You will be assigned a personal Student
Adviser who will be your first point of
contact with you throughout your studies
and will serve as your mentor. The role of
our Student Advisers is to support you
throughout the course and provide
guidance on your progress.
Tutor support
Your module tutor will be in regular
contact with you throughout the course
via our online virtual learning platform
which closely replicates a traditional
campus classroom.
Your module tutor will lead the class by
delivering seminars, posting lessons and
assignments, answering questions and
interacting with you on a regular basis.
The virtual learning environment will also
be used to mark assignments and we aim
to provide feedback on any coursework
submitted within seven days.
There is also the opportunity to have
regular contact with your tutor by
telephone and e-mail as you progress
through your course and to interact
with other students on the programme
through online forums.
Enhanced Learning Credits (ELC)
The Ministry of Defence’s Enhanced
Learning Credits scheme (ELC) is an
initiative to encourage lifelong learning
for members of the Armed Forces. The
ELC scheme provides financial support
for higher level courses. We are an
approved course provider for the MoD
through the ELC scheme and can offer
advice and help you to apply for any
financial support available.
Additional resources
If you study with us you will have
access to a number of resources to
complement your studies via our virtual
learning platform, such as online
libraries, which will enable you to
access on-line journals, databases and
e-books. You can also apply to become
a member of the University of Essex
Students’ Union.
Support for students with disabilities
You should make us aware of any
disability, long-term medical condition,
mental health difficulty or specific

independent financial portal FXStreet
- is designed to give you a
comprehensive understanding of how
financial markets work and how
industry professionals approach them.
Course content is practically designed
and includes live trading simulation to
develop your technical understanding
alongside market theory.
You will also find that the course is
broadly focused across financial
assets and instruments to ensure you
develop a fully rounded approach to
market analysis and risk
management.
The course holds specific value if you
want to move into investment banking,
equity analysis or brokerage roles in
the future, as well as providing you
with the knowledge to manage your
own investments in the future.
Progress to an MSc or MBA
The Financial Trading Analysis (FTA)
course is equal to 20 credits at
postgraduate level (Level 7) and can
be completed within four months of
study.
Upon completion of the Financial
Trading Analysis (FTA) course we
offer you the opportunity to carry your
credits forward to further study on one
of our business Masters courses, for
example our MSc Business and
Management or MBA (both awarded

Postgraduate tuition fees
Payment of postgraduate tuition fees
Our postgraduate courses are flexible enough to allow you continue to work alongside your studies. Many students meet the costs of their
study through a combination of personal savings, family savings, loans and full-time or part-time employment. If you are an overseas
student, you should check whether your government provides financial support for overseas study.
We offer a simple monthly payment plan to allow you to spread the cost of your tuition over the duration of your studies. Alternatively, a
10% discount is available for full payment of postgraduate tuition fees up front.
If you have successfully completed a Bachelors degree with us and decide to continue your studies to Masters level, we will offer you a
10% Alumni Discount on your postgraduate tuition fees.
Our postgraduate tuition fees are the same whether you are a UK, EU or international student.

Postgraduate tuition fees and length of study
Our postgraduate courses cost £375 per month payable over the standard course duration, with the exception of our MBA courses which
are £500 per month. If you study faster than the standard course duration, your tuition fees will be reduced.
For example, the total tuition fees for a full MBA are £500 per month, payable for the standard course duration of 24 months, up to a total
of £12,000. Taking more than one module at a time, the MBA can be completed in a minimum of 18 months saving you £3,000.
If you take longer than the standard study duration to complete your course you won't be charged more than the full course fee for doing
so.

Entry requirements
All applications will be considered on their individual merits and assessed by the
academic team, taking into account professional status and work experience as well
as prior academic achievements. If English is not your first language, then we require
IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.
