The flagship credential available from HP, the Master ASE 

requires an individual to gather customer business 

requirements and design, integrate and support a full solution 

including application, middleware, platform, operating system, 

storage, network and option components. 

HP Certified Systems Administrator 

This level of certification requires an individual to perform 

hands-on installation, configuration, administration and 

support of HP solutions and/or HP operating systems in 

networked environments. 

HP Certified Systems Engineer 

This individual is required to provide hands-on installation, 

performance optimisation, management and support of HP 

solutions and/or operating systems in complex, enterprise 

environments. 

HP Certified Systems Developer 

Given a set of customer business requirements, this individual 

is required to design, implement, test, and maintain software 

which meets business needs. 

HP Accredited Platform Specialist 

This individual is required to provide basic hardware support 

for the purpose of restoring consumer and business-class 

hardware to factory operational levels.

Annual Points requirement 

To ensure you maintain your skills in accordance 

with industry best practices, HP has a points system 

that allows you to accrue points through continuous 

education with a flexible range of activity options. 

Activities can consist of events, self-paced and instructorled 

training. You have an extended menu of continuous 

education activities you can choose from with little or 

no travel costs. Annually, you are required to achieve 

a minimum of eight (up to a maximum of 16) points, 

depending on the certifications you hold. For more

It is highly recommended that you undertake the courses associated with each exam and/or possess equivalent 

on-the-job experience required to fulfil exam requirements. Also please make sure that you fulfil the required

Instructor-led courses 

Instructor-led courses are highly interactive sessions that enable proactive participation, sharing, networking and 

more timely access to product information. Courses may be conducted face-to-face or through interactive sessions 

over the Internet. Technical training focuses on hands-on/lab work giving you the opportunity to work in a safe 

environment. Prior registration is required. 

Self-paced courses 

A wide selection of web-based training and downloadable courses offers you the flexibility to learn about products

Tests are conducted in Prometric test centres throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa. 

Required test scores are set, based on extensive analysis of the results achieved by experts with extensive 

knowledge of the subject matter. The required scores are communicated to candidates prior to the exam. 

Web-based exam (HP2-XXX) 

Candidates are required to demonstrate mastery of the subject in an uncontrolled environment. The candidate can 

use any external tools or information resources they choose. 

Tests have a time limit. As a result, the candidate must have a comprehensive understanding of the subject in order 

to complete the exam within the given time. 

Tests are conducted over the web in a secure browser environment. This means they can be taken in the office or at 

home, 24 hours a day.

Proctored exams at a Prometric test centre 

HP0-XXX exams are proctored and held at Prometric 

test centres in your country. Register for proctored 

exams at a Prometric test centre at www.2test.com 

Select “Hewlett Packard” under “Testing Program” and 

then specify your country of testing under “Region”. 

Web-based exams 

HP2-XXX exams can be completed online 24 hours 

a day. To register for an exam, you require a 

Prometric user ID. If you are a first-time user, you 

can create your own Prometric user ID. If you are a 

returning candidate and already have a Prometric 

user ID, then you can directly log in to register for 

your chosen exam.

Before and after the exam 

Exam preparation 

Test analysis conducted by HP and Prometric clearly 

show that a comprehensive course of class attendance, 

self-study and review is required to pass the certification 

exam on the first attempt. Therefore, it is essential that you:

Exam results 

Upon completion of your exam online or at an 

Authorised Prometric Testing Centre, you will receive 

immediate online notification of your pass/fail status. 

You will also receive a certified report indicating your 

pass/fail status and your exam results by section 

(where appropriate). Your individual test scores will 

be automatically “uploaded” to the HP certification 

database where your certification history is recorded. 

HP typically receives your exam results within five 

business days from the date the test was taken. 

In the event you have not passed the exam, you can

Getting certified 


If your HP Certified Professional certification requires a 

third-party prerequisite, you should provide a scanned 

copy of your certificate/transcript of operating system 

or third-party certification to certification.emea@hp.com 

If the exam concludes the requirements for a particular 

certification, a certificate and welcome kit will be issued 

automatically.
