His current activity as a freelancer photographer<br />

doesn’t hinder him from fulfilling his<br />

passion for traveling. Aside of that, he is also<br />

passionate to talk about automotive, technology<br />

and of course his love for art and photography.<br />

There is no man on earth that has<br />

inspired him yet, but movies have a big influence<br />

to his life. His very first time working as<br />

a professional photographer was in Elle.<br />

Reita Devita, 21, has a huge interest in fashion<br />

photography. During her rush days for<br />

collage stuff as a graphic designer student in<br />

Multimedia Nusantara University, she spent<br />

most of her time by making handicrafts with<br />

her sister. They created a jewelry line named<br />

Leaaf, which combines stones, steels, and<br />

ropes into great looking accessories. She has<br />

contributed to numerous model agencies in<br />

creating models portfolio.<br />

Talisa Dwiyani, 22, studies Architecture in University of Indonesia.<br />

She loves travelling a lot. 2012 is an adventurous year<br />

for her as she travelled to China in February, Korea in July,<br />

and accepted an internship offer in Osaka - Japan for upcoming<br />

April-June. She began with architecture photography while<br />

travelling and turned it into fashion photography recently. Her<br />

interest in yoga, art, and culture have shaped her<br />

photos feature.<br />

Quite a unique person is Reza, we can say, as a freelance photographer<br />

whose hobby is daydreaming. He works as an inhouse<br />

photographer for an independent company here in Jakarta.<br />

He can be easily caught in a conversation of fashion.<br />

His love of what is called “psychedelic art” helps him to shape<br />

his ideas.<br />

So tell me the story of how Junkiee was created<br />

At first Junkiee was created for fun, kind of a nothing-to-lose project.<br />

We were inspired by shoes Ryan bought from Brisbane, three<br />

sample shoes with flexible shapes. Based on this brief idea, we<br />

tried to create our own shoe-line with an affordable price and a<br />

personal touch of us<br />

WHAT WENT THROUGH YOUR MIND WHEN YOU COME UP WITH THE NAME?<br />

Junkiee tends to be associated with a negative connotation, which<br />

is a drug-addict.<br />

Then we thought, why don’t we turn it in to a positive one? Junkiee<br />

is an addict. Addicted to our shoes!<br />

IS THERE ANY PARTICULAR CONCEPT THAT JUNKIEE HAS?<br />

The main concepts of Junkiee are unisex, flexible, comfortable, and<br />

colorful. We attempt to put that concept to every shoe of Junkiee.<br />

What’s unique about Junkiee?<br />

Junkiee shoes are long lasting fashion apparels. With safe-casualdesigns,<br />

we provide light shoes for daily wear.<br />

Could you tell me about this collection?<br />

We feature stripes with rainbow colors for the looks and sack material<br />

for shaping. In a nutshell, this collection is less casual than<br />

before.<br />

WHAT INSPIRED THE COLLECTION?<br />

Of course our customers themselves: what they need becomes our<br />

inspiration in innovating.<br />

Who do you see wearing your design?<br />

Vino G. Sebastian would be perfectly fit in with Junkiee!<br />

We think Junkie is on level 3, which<br />

means we stay in the middle line, affordable<br />

for its price and premium for<br />

the design. We want Junkiee become<br />

like Converse or Swallow (sandals),<br />

a long lasting product, which everybody<br />

has..<br />

What’s in the future for Junkiee?<br />

We want Junkiee evolve the unisex and<br />

flexible-shape concept by innovating its<br />

design, So we plan on growing big in<br />

the local and international market.<br />

So what’s the story behind the name, I suppose<br />

there’s something to do with toes?<br />

Actually, the name Selittoes is a derivation of<br />

the words “Seven Light Shoes”. “Seven” means<br />

seven colors of the rainbow, which means Selittoes<br />

has wide varieties of colors, design, and<br />

types. “Light” is a symbol of consciousness. With<br />

consciousness, we’re going to be really aware of<br />

good and bad things for building a business and<br />

selecting employees, craftsmen, and quality of<br />

shoes. In an abundance of light, we can also see<br />

the beauty of colors and love in Selittoes.<br />

That is related to our customers. We can see<br />

many customers who love varieties of colors and<br />

designs in our shoes. They love “Selittoes”, and<br />

at the end, they will be our loyal customers.<br />

How did it all begin?<br />

Selittoes is a 100%-handmade local brand established<br />

by two bestf riends who are deeply in love<br />

with various kinds of shoes (flats, loafers, moccasins,<br />

clogs, heels, wedges, and also boots). We<br />

started by flipping through fashion magazines<br />

and looking at all kinds of pretty shoes to lift up<br />

our mood.<br />

Then we collected pictures and photos of shoes<br />

in a scrap book for our own inspiration.<br />

Is there any particular concept that Selittoes<br />

use?<br />

CUSTOM-MADE SHOES. Yes. We present to<br />

customers to be as creative as they wish, both in<br />

terms of material, height and color.<br />

Who do you see wearing Selittoes?<br />

For those who care about the importance of<br />

style/appearance, young, stylish, and like something<br />

different!<br />

are always challenged to make fashion constantly<br />

which has to be unique, interesting, and creative.<br />
