Bravo ® pH Monitoring System
Bravo pH monitoring, the only catheter-free ambulatory pH test, utilizes a small
pH capsule that is temporarily attached to the wall of the esophagus to transmit
pH data for a full 48 hours. Ambulatory pH testing is considered the gold standard
for pH measurement and monitoring of gastric reflux, helping clinicians diagnose
gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
Easy to Use Device
• Placement procedure is simple to perform and well-tolerated 1
by patients
• Delivery device design and markings enable intuitive capsule
attachment to the esophagus
Patient-Friendly Procedure
• Better tolerated and, therefore, preferred by patients over
catheter-based pH tests 2

Step 1
Position Bravo
pH capsule in the
esophagus
Step 2
Apply suction to draw a
small amount of tissue
into the capsule’s
suction chamber
Step 3
Depress plunger on
handle to attach
capsule
Step 4
Remove delivery
system from the
esophagus
Step 5
Capsule immediately
begins transmitting
pH data
Patient wears the receiver for 48 hours
while engaging in normal activity.
Upon completion of the study, information
is uploaded to a computer for analysis.
The disposable capsule detaches and passes
through the digestive tract a few days later.
