PlayMaker Award<br />
The PlayMaker Award is a great introduction into leadership for pupils or students aged nine and over.<br />
The award is designed for use in variety of education settings as a one day course and focuses on<br />
developing learners leadership skills.<br />
Recommended Age: 9 and over<br />
Course length : 6 hours (approximately)<br />
Assessment: There is no formal assessment.<br />
Young Leader Award<br />
The Young Leader Award is a great introduction into leadership, giving pupils and students<br />
knowledge of how to organise and lead small games and activities that can be used as part of<br />
uniformed organisation, community club or sports club sessions.<br />
School Years<br />
5 & 6<br />
The Young Leader Award aims to help learners develop leadership skills such as organisation,<br />
communication and teamwork, as well as helping to build confidence and self-esteem as they take<br />
on responsibility of leading their peers and younger children.<br />

Course length: 6-10 hours (approximately)<br />

I Can Lead<br />
A fun practical course that can be completed in class, on the sports field or as an after school activity.<br />
I Can Lead has been designed as an introduction to leadership that will give learners the knowledge<br />
and skills to assist in leading basic sports/activity sessions under direct supervision.<br />

Recommended Age: 13 and over<br />
Course length: 12 - 15 hours (approximately)<br />

Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Learning in<br />
Physical Education and School Sport (QCF)<br />
Developed in partnership with the Association for Physical Education (afPE), the Level 2 Certificate<br />
in Supporting Learning in Physical Education and School Sport aims to provide learners with an<br />
introduction to a number of roles through an engagement with physical education and school sport<br />
(PESS), including teaching, activity leadership and coaching for young people. The qualification<br />
provides learners with guidance on further opportunities, including how to contribute to PESS<br />
programmes as a sports leader, coach and teaching assistant. While this qualification is delivered<br />
through the medium of PESS, the skills may be used by learners in working in other sporting<br />
environments, under appropriate guidance.<br />
Level 3 Certificate in Supporting the Delivery of<br />
Physical Education and School Sport (QCF)<br />
Developed in partnership with the Association for Physical Education (afPE), the 1st4sport Level 3<br />
Certificate in Supporting the Delivery of Physical Education and School Sport (QCF) prepares<br />
