comes to Etna again?

stand at location on Etna
when the history of
another marvelous stage
on Etna will outplay in front
of you eyes.
Welcome to the
presentation of

Description of the Giro d’Italia
camp in Sicily
6. may - 12. may
You will experience 7 days packed with cycling
on scenic roads, marvellous food and of course
the Giro d’Italia by the roadside. You will stay at
the Etna Hotel that is presented on the next
page. Here after follows a description of every
day. Last you can see what you have to pay for
this trip.

Etna Hotel
Charming renovated old Country house located in the middle
of a big scenic lemon grove. The owner of the place wanted to
create a place with all comforts, and at the same time keep the
original Sicilian architecture.

Day 1
Cycling: Alcantara - Randazzo 90 km. 1610 hm.
Alcantara is a gorgeous natural area between
the north side of Etna and Nebrodi National
Park. We will visit Randazzo that's rest on the
lower slopes of Etna. Randazzo is, among other,
known for its Duomo built in lava stones.

Day 2
Cycling: Castel Mola - Savoca. 83 km. 1510 hm.
We ride up to Taormina and from there further
up to the top in Castelmola. From here we ride
to Savoca that is known for its beauty
and famous for its Godfather movie locations.

Day 3
Cycling: Etna loop 130 km. 2780 hm.
We ride all the way around the vulcano. Up
and down all day with view of Etna from all
sides.

Day 4
Cycling: Zafferana - Etna Refugio Sapienza.
81 km. 2190 hm.
The day for the grand Giro stage on Etna.
We ride to the top and stay there for
lunch. Around 5 o’clock we will watch the
Giro riders arrives to the the finish line.
Dag 5

Day 5
Cycling: 80 km. 2100 hm.
First we ride to Pedara to see the start of the
5th Giro stage. After that we ride to Salto del
Cane on Etna.

Day 6
Cycling: Etna nord Citelli - 87 km. 2090 hm.
We ride to the other top of Etna. On the way
back we visit one of the best wineries on Etna
and they will be waiting us with a wine tasting
accompanied by a little snack.

you can put some of you stuff in. Just like in a race.

The price is based on two people in a double room.
Single room is possible and cost 30 euro extra pr. night.
Wine tasting is not included - cost 25 euro a person.
Wine, Beer and other alcoholic drinks at the hotel is not included.
All cycling routes can be made shorter or longer based on your wishes and we will
split people up in groups according to level if necessary.

The People behind Sicily Cycling Club
Tommaso Paxia is a 38 years old Sicilian. Several times
Ironman. Is the president of one of Catanias biggest
Triathlon clubs. He holds a Master degree in Computer
Science. He is partner in a Software company, and lives with
his wife in Catania.
Thomas Opstrup is a 44 years old cyclist. He has
participated in licensed races for more than 2 decades. He
has been a professional coach for more than 20 years. He
holds a Master degree in Marketing from Copenhagen
Business School and has a past working for different
international advertising agencies.
