Wedding Now Spring 2017

Marriage is not a noun, it’s a verb. It isn’t something you get, it’s something you do. As we embark on engagement season, let’s take a step back and look at why modern marriage is more important than ever. Of all the pressures, responsibilities and commitments you have in life, make your relationship a top priority. In the grand scheme of things, your marriage has the potential to be longest lasting endeavour you may pursue in your lifetime. Marriage is not only the beginning of a new life for you both as a couple, it is the beginning of a new circle of life for your family so make it your goal to create a marriage that feels like the safest place on earth. Getting married puts a protective shell around your relationship and helps keep your bond strong when you hit the inevitable bumps in the road. It gives you a sense of security that you will stay together, no matter what. So to all the couples getting married in 2017, we salute you! Marriage is the ultimate commitment - once you’re hitched, you can sit back and feel content that you have secured a lifelong, satisfying and loving relationship. While there’s no time like the present to plan your big day, one of the biggest regrets for brides is not enjoying their engaged status enough. After all, you’ll be married for the rest of your life but you’ll only be engaged for a short time. Give yourself time to fully enjoy your engagement before you dive right into the planning. Chances are, you won’t be coming up for air any time soon! Until next time... Lauragh xx LAURAGH QUINN, EDITOR, WEDDINGSnow

Romance
Rustic
Packed full of shabby chic and bohemian details, a rustic wedding promises bags of natural
beauty, marrying the vintage with the contemporary in a unique and timeless style.
With rustic weddings trending big time, it’s easier than ever to add natural flair to your
centrepieces, flowers, hairstyles and dresses. Need guidance gathering inspiration?
We enlisted the help of Juniper & Ruby, a brand new weddings and events agency,
to help you plan the rustic wedding of your dreams!
The brainchild of 2014 International Rose of Tralee, Juniper & Ruby was instigated by Maria Walsh and her
childhood friend, Avril Reilly. Specialising in weddings, corporate events and photoshoot production, the
pair, who hail from Mayo, offer individuality, versatility and imagination with each new venture they take on.
TOP TIPS
• An engagement shoot is great practice and will
save all the awkward posing on the day.
• If possible, have a budget for décor – it will give
your wedding the wow factor.
• Don't sweat the small stuff. Maybe something
isn’t exactly what you had envisioned, but
your guests won’t know that!
• Check in with your partner – remember you’re
in love with this person and have just made the
biggest commitment of your life. Give the
crowd what they want to see – a couple madly
in love!
COMMON PITFALLS
• Ensure your suppliers know exactly what you
want and that your planner knows who is
meant to be doing what. You’d be surprised
who can show up, or not, on the day.
• Have a schedule! If you don’t have a planner,
queue the wedding party to keep track.
• Not having a planner! Even if it’s just on the
day to co-ordinate, having someone to relieve
stress is priceless.
