Parks present a rather beautiful side of the grand
religious holiday that is The Eid of Sacrifice. Its
name comes from for its commemoration of the
story of Prophet Abraham, on him be peace,
when he attempted to sacrifice his son Ismail in
obedience to The Almighty God’s commands, who
in turn redeemed him with a heaven-sent ram in
place of his son. In an attempt to grow near
to God, Muslims offer a sacrifice in a form of
cattle in celebration and acknowledgment God’s
benevolence. With this, beauty is manifest, whereby
family, friends and loved ones come together in
an atmosphere of greenery, enjoying traditional
dishes and all that is festive and bearing of local
character and appeal. The poet Shams Ad-deen Al-
Tilmsani once said, “Three things take one’s grief
away: water, greenery and a beautiful face.”
الحدائق وجه جميل للعيد في مناسبة دينية
عظيمة كعيد األضحى المبارك والذي سمي بهذا
االسم الرتباطه بقصة سيدنا إبراهيم عليه السالم
حين أراد التضحية بابنه إسماعيل تلبية ألمر اهلل
تعالى وفداه المولى بكبش من السماء.‏ وفي
موقف يتقرب فيه المسلمون إلى اهلل بأحد األنعام
ويحتفلون تقديرًا لنعمه وعظيم عطائه،‏ تتحقق
معادلة الجمال حيث يجتمع األهل واألصحاب في
أجواء الخضرة يستمتعون باألكل التقليدي وكل
ما يتعلق بالعيد ويحمل سمة الطابع المحلي
للمنطقة.‏ قال الشاعر شمس الدين التلمساني:‏
