Who Are We?<br />
The <strong>Canadian</strong> <strong>Association</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Deaf</strong> - <strong>Association</strong> <strong>des</strong><br />
<strong>Sourds</strong> <strong>du</strong> <strong>Canada</strong> (CAD-ASC) is a national organization that<br />
undertakes information, research, e<strong>du</strong>cation, and community<br />
support activities on behalf <strong>of</strong> <strong>Deaf</strong> persons and o<strong>the</strong>r<br />
<strong>Canadian</strong>s with similar needs and interests.<br />
Founded in 1940, we promote and protect <strong>the</strong> rights, needs,<br />
and concerns <strong>of</strong> those who are linguistically and culturally <strong>Deaf</strong><br />
who use American Sign Language (ASL) and langue <strong>des</strong><br />
signes québécoise (LSQ).<br />
