National Perspective<br />
• The CAD-ASC estimates that <strong>the</strong>re are approximately<br />
350,000 <strong>Deaf</strong> <strong>Canadian</strong>s who uses sign languages (ASL<br />
and LSQ)<br />
• We acknowledge that <strong>the</strong>re are financial barriers issues to<br />
<strong>the</strong> full participation <strong>of</strong> <strong>Deaf</strong> <strong>Canadian</strong>s in <strong>the</strong> digital<br />
economy.<br />
• Lack <strong>of</strong> access to e<strong>du</strong>cate ASL and LSQ users to<br />
understand internet packages that are <strong>of</strong>fered<br />
