Bilag 1. Sepsis syndromet (efter Bone et al 126 )

SIRS = Systemic Inflammatory Response Syndrome:
Two or more of the following conditions:
Sepsis:
• Heart rate > 90 beats per minute
• Body temperature > 38º C or < 36º C
• Respiratory rate > 20 per minute or PaCO2 < 4,3 kPa (32 mmHg)
• White blood cell count > 12 x 10 9 cells/L or < 4 x 10 9 cells/L
SIRS and proven or highly suspected infection.
Severe sepsis:
Sepsis and signs of organ dysfunction, hypoperfusion or hypotension.
Septic shock:
Sepsis with hypotension despite adequate fluid resuscitation; need of vasopressors.
