and romantic round-trips<br />
If you prefer a round trip on one of the lakes with a skilled<br />
skipper at the helm, catch one of the Hjejlen ApS excursion<br />
boats or the good ship Dagmar on Lake Skanderborg<br />
Sø. The Hjejle excursion boats sail all summer from<br />
Silkeborg to Himmelbjerget and Laven and from Ry to<br />
Himmelbjerget. In the high season they also offer onehour<br />
non-stop trips from the foot of Himmelbjerget<br />
as well as seasonal evening cruises from Ry – often in<br />
combination with a gourmet menu from Nr. Vissing Kro.<br />
The excursion boat Dagmar is a Skanderborg attraction<br />
rich in tradition. The round-trip on Lake Skanderborg<br />
Sø takes about 80 minutes and you can get on and off<br />
several places along the way – for example on the brand<br />
new bridge by Vestermølle.<br />
The newest and biggest Hjejlen excursion boat,<br />
Mågen, is equipped with a toilet as well as good<br />
access for disabled people. Dagmar is also equipped<br />
with a lift for easy boarding of the boat.<br />
Kayak – yes please<br />
You can put your kayak in the water an abundance of<br />
places in the Lakelands. You can for example set out from<br />
the new outdoor recreational oasis by the Emborg bridge<br />
south of Gl. Rye and follow the current north via Lake<br />
Gudensø to Ry. Or you can start from the lovely Knudhule<br />
beach at the eastern end of Lake Knudsø and enjoy a trip<br />
on the lake. NB: No kayaks for rent.<br />

Gudenå Explorer <strong>2011</strong><br />
from Sunday 29 May until Sunday 5 June (the week including<br />
Ascension Day). Take part in a big bicycle challenge<br />
divided in four from Thursday 2 June until Sunday 5 June,<br />
a bicycle tour of about 200 kilometres starting where the<br />
river Gudenå rises in Tinnet Krat to the final goal on Tørvebryggen<br />
in Randers. Alternatively, you can go on a kayak<br />
tour of about 120 km from Skanderborg to Randers.<br />
