En semi-autobiografisk udforskning af instruktør
Haruko Crow Nishimuras kamp med identitet,
depression og barndomstraumer, men også
åbenbaringen af en personlig styrke. Performance
bestående af livemusik, teater, dans, visualiseringer
og fortællekunst, der behandler problematikkerne
humoristisk og fantasifuldt, når Nishimura
præsenterer familien som Godzilla-monstre, mens
hun selv bevæger sig igennem de eventyr moderen
læste op i barndommen. I et flerdimensionelt
kludetæppe-univers skabt gennem filmiske visualiseringer
fremtryller og trøster Nishimura hendes
kvindelige forfædre med håndfiltet uld, titusinde
håndmalede silkeblomster og strikkede trøjer.

A semi-autobiographical exploration of Haruko
Crow Nishimura’s struggle with identity, depression,
childhood trauma, but also the awakening
of personal power. A performance consisting of
live music, theater, dance, visuals and storytelling
that deals humorously and imaginatively with the
themes, when Nishimura describes the family as
Godzilla monsters, while she goes through three
fairy tales that were read to her by her mother in
her childhood. In a universe of a multi dimensional
patchwork quilt created with cinematic imagery
Nishimura conjures and consoles her female ancestors
through the use of hand felted wools, ten
thousand hand painted silk flowers, and knitted
sweaters.
