Curriculum Vitae:<br />
Michael Paula studied Mechanical Engineering <strong>at</strong> the Technical University of Vienna. He has been lector for Appropri<strong>at</strong>e Technology<br />
<strong>at</strong> the Technical University of Vienna since 1985. Since 1986 he has been working for the ministry in the fields of energy research,<br />
environmental technologies and str<strong>at</strong>egies for sustainable development.<br />
Since 1996 he is head of the unit “Energy and Environmental Technologies” and has been working on R&D str<strong>at</strong>egies of technology<br />
rel<strong>at</strong>ed research for sustainable development.<br />
He initi<strong>at</strong>ed the “Austrian Program on Technologies for Sustainable Development” with its subprograms “Building of Tomorrow”,<br />
“Factory of Tomorrow” and “Energy Systems of Tomorrow” and he initi<strong>at</strong>ed the Str<strong>at</strong>egy Process “ENERGY 2050”.<br />
