6 an interplay of singular forces, which are not dramatic, but rather at rest in the element of a gravity inherent to each of their components. Instead of dispersal there is a collectedness in the sense that whoever is collected is in repose. No turbulence, nothing transitory, but rather a presence in persistence. One could call it “fieldwork“ in the best and the most comprehensive sense of a mental metaphor. The only concept that applies – beyond all trendy-ness – is timelessness. Franz Leinfelder’s visual works are not narrative in essence, for the anecdote does not play any role. They simply exist in the manner in which they and the artist have found each other to form their respective orders, in the consciousness that there is a testimony of existence in the persistence of presence. One would like to imagine that they are because they were and became; and that they will doubtlessly be due to the life-force inherent in them.
