Liebe <strong>BMW</strong> Privatfahrer,<br />
der traditionelle <strong>BMW</strong> Sportpokal wird seit den 60er-Jahren ausgeschrieben und<br />
blickt mittlerweile auf über vier spannende Rennsport-Jahrzehnte zurück. Das Ziel<br />
des <strong>BMW</strong> Sportpokals war und ist es, Privatfahrer mit einem Produktionswagen<br />
auf breiter Ebene zu unterstützen. Schließlich sind private Teams und Fahrer, die<br />
rund um die Welt mit <strong>BMW</strong> Fahrzeugen um Siege kämpfen, die besten Botschafter<br />
für die Leistungsfähigkeit unserer Autos.<br />
Neben den Werkseinsätzen ging es uns immer darum, den Rennsport für unsere<br />
Kunden bezahlbar zu halten und zugleich ein wettbewerbsfähiges Paket anzubieten.<br />
Mit dieser Philosophie ist die Marke groß geworden, an dieser Tradition wollen wir<br />
festhalten.<br />
Wir hoffen wieder auf zahlreiche neue Bewerber für den <strong>BMW</strong> Sportpokal 2008.<br />
Auch in diesem Jahr beläuft sich die Preisgeldausschüttung auf knapp 250.000,–<br />
Euro und die 25 Gewinner werden am Jahresende wie gewohnt in feierlichem<br />
Rahmen geehrt.<br />

Dear <strong>BMW</strong> private entrant,<br />
As an event which has been held since the 60s, the traditional <strong>BMW</strong> Sports Trophy<br />
competition can now look back on more than four decades of exciting motorsport.<br />
The goal of the <strong>BMW</strong> Sports Trophy has always been to provide far-reaching<br />
support to private drivers entering <strong>BMW</strong> production cars in competition events.<br />
Consequently private teams traveling the world to attain victories for <strong>BMW</strong> are<br />
the best ambassadors to demonstrate the efficiency of our cars.<br />
Next to works campaigns we have always made it a point to keep motorsport<br />
feasible for our customers and to provide a competitive package. With this<br />
philosophy our brand has grown and we want to hold on to this tradition.<br />
We hope there will be many new participants competing for the <strong>BMW</strong> Sports Trophy<br />
2008. This year once again the prize money amounts to almost 250,000 euros and<br />
as usual we will honour 25 winners at a festive event at the end of the year.<br />
