CFPA Europe

CFPA EUROPE
The European Confederation of Fire Protection Associations (CFPA) is the formal
body, governed by statutes, which links together the 16 recognised fire safety
organisations which exist in the countries of the European UNION and the European
Free Trade Area. Founded in 1974, CFPA-Europe draws on the extensive resources
of its 16 members in working for increasingly high standards of fire safety and the
reduction of fire losses throughout Europe.
The work of CFPA-Europe is assuming greater importance as a result of the
abolition in 1992 of trade barriers and the harmonisation of standards. In various
fields of fire safety activity, CFPA-Europe complements the work of the European
Commission, the CEN/CENELEC standards activity, such bodies as Euralarm and
the Eurofeu, the European Insurance Committee (CEA), and the European Group of
Fire Test Laboratories (EGOLF), EFSAC etc.
