DuraSeal Dural Sealant System<br />
For Cranial Surgery<br />
The Dura is Closed, but is it Sealed?<br />
The DuraSeal dural sealant system is intended for use as an adjunct to sutured<br />
dural repair during cranial surgery to provide watertight closure.<br />
Because it may swell up to 50% of its size in any dimension, DuraSeal sealant<br />
should not be applied to confined bony structures where nerves are present and<br />
may be compressed. In a nonrandomized, single-arm clinical investigation involving<br />
111 patients, the DuraSeal system demonstrated a 98.2% intraoperative and<br />
95.5% postoperative success rate in maintaining a watertight seal. There were no<br />
device-related adverse events.<br />
