Inno Trans in BerlinInno Trans in BerlinEinmal jährlich steht die Messe Berlin ganz im Zeichender Verkehrstechnik, nämlich dann, wenn die Inno Transihre Pforten öffnet. Es ist die weltweit größte Plattform fürnationale und internationale Produzenten, Anbieter undKunden. Vom 18. bis 23. September präsentierten 2.515Unternehmen aus 49 Ländern auf der knapp 95.000 m²großen Fläche ihre Stärken im Bereich Schienenverkehrstechnik.Auf den Gleisanlagen, die direkt an dieMesse angeschlossen sind, nützten namhafte Herstellerdie Gelegenheit, Ihre Schienenfahrzeuge in vollerGröße vorzuführen. Darunter Siemens mit dem ProjektMetro Warschau und SBB Niederflur-Doppelstockwagen,aber auch Astra mit dem Projekt Straßenbahn Arad. Beiden erwähnten Projekten kam Rembrandtin Lack zumEinsatz. Ein Blick in die GlaskugelA look in the crystal ballRückblicke können aus einer gesicherten Position relativleicht gemacht werden. Vorausblicke sind da schon vielschwieriger und oft spekulativ. Ich wage es trotzdem undbeginne mit einem kurzen Rückblick. Tatsache ist, dassman das Jahr 2012 umsatzmäßig als Berg- und Talfahrtbezeichnen muss. Umsatzschwache Monate wurden vonumsatzstarken Monaten abgelöst. Konjunkturelle Entwicklungenhaben einzelne Produktbereiche stark beeinflusst.Auch die Krise der europäischen Stahlindustrie hatsich auf unsere Geschäftsentwicklung ausgewirkt. Aberes ist uns auch 2012 wieder gelungen, einen guten Abschlusszu erzielen.Was erwartet uns 2013? Es ist mehr Planbarkeit und Sicherheitin die Rohstoffversorgung zurückgekehrt, wennauch mit dem Wermutstropfen, dass sich die Rohstoffpreiseauf hohem Niveau stabilisiert haben. Wichtig ist,dass es keine Kontingentierungen wie in den Vorjahrenmehr gibt. Damit sind Produktionsprozesse wieder besserplanbar. Leider stört die REACH Verordnung etwas diescheinbare Ruhe im Bereich der Rohstoffe. Eine Ausdünnungder Rohstoffpalette ist ziemlich wahrscheinlich unddies wirkt sich auf den Bereich Forschung und Entwicklungaus. Ohne ausreichende Rohstoffvielfalt wird es immerschwieriger, innovative Ideen in die Realität umzusetzenund so die Branche weiter voranzubringen.Wir haben uns dennoch vorgenommen, weiterhin 25 %unserer Energie in den Bereich Forschung und Entwicklungzu investieren, denn nur so schaffen wir es, auch inZukunft zu den führenden Anbietern von funktionellen Beschichtungenzu gehören.IhrIt is quite easy to take a look back on known facts. It ismuch more difficult and often speculative to take a lookinto the future. Nevertheless, I will dare to do it startingwith a short look back. It is a fact that 2012 has to bedescribed as a rollercoaster ride in terms of turnover.Low-selling months were followed by high-selling months.Economic developments had a strong influence on someproduct segments. The crisis of the European steel industryalso affected our business. But we managed to achievegood results also in 2012.What can we expect in 2013? More predictability and securityhave returned to raw materials supply even if thereis one sour note: raw material prices have stabilised ata high level. It is important that the fixing of quotas, ascarried out in previous years, has stopped. Thus, productionprocesses can be planned better. Unfortunately, theREACH Regulation slightly disturbs the apparent calm onthe raw material front. It is quite probable that the choiceof raw materials will be reduced and this will affect R&D.Without the necessary diversity of raw materials, it willbecome even more difficult to turn innovative ideas intoreality and thus contribute to the progress of the branch.Despite all this, we intend to continue to invest 25 % ofour energy in R&D because it is the only way to remainone of the leading suppliers of functional coatings also inthe future.Yours sincerely,Hubert CulikHubert CulikNanotechnologie hat die Branche revolutioniert.Nanotechnology has revolutionised the industry.
