DER WELTRAUM – UNENDLICHE WEITEN... 

Wer ist nicht fasziniert und neugierig angezogen vom Abenteuer des bemannten Raumflugs, von erzielten und 

erträumten technischen Errungenschaften, von zu bewältigenden Herausforderungen und von den Männern und 

Frauen, die stellvertretend für uns diese Flüge unternehmen? 

Der große Traum der Menschheit, die Erdanziehungskraft zu überwinden und das Weltall zu erkunden, wurde seit 

Mitte des 20. Jahrhunderts möglich. Viele Meilensteine der bemannten Raumfahrt – z.B. das erste Lebewesen, die 

Hündin Laika, im Weltall in 1957, der erste Mensch im Weltall, Juri Gagarin in 1961 und der erste Schritt auf dem 

Mond durch Neil Armstrong in 1969 - sind im kollektiven Gedächtnis „eingebrannt“. 

Ein dabei nicht immer ganz freundschaftlicher Wettstreit zwischen den großen Weltraummächten – Russland, Amerika 

und später China – führte über die Raumstationen „Sojus“, „Skylab“ und der „MIR“ mit großen Schritten zur jetzigen 

internationalen Raumstation ISS. 

Viele dieser einzigartigen Ereignisse wurden durch Kuverts und Artefakte dokumentiert, die entweder offiziell durch die 

Raumfahrtagenturen ausgegeben wurden – oder manchmal als private Dokumente der Kosmonauten und Astronauten 

einen intimen Blick in ihre Gedankenwelt offenbaren. 

Wir sind stolz darauf, eine Vielzahl bedeutender, teilweise einzigartiger Belege zur Dokumentation dieser historischen 

Abläufe der amerikanischen und russischen Seite präsentieren zu dürfen. Dazu konnten wir einige Bestände international 

renommierter Sammler und Kuratoren gewinnen, die in dieser Zusammenstellung herausragend sind. 

Neben APOLLO-Briefen, die tatsächlich auf dem Mond waren (darunter der bis dato uns bekannte teuerste Astrophilatelie-Beleg) 

und einer Sammlung von über 200 astrophilatelistischen Belegen zum Leben im Weltall gibt es weitere 

zahlreiche Originalbelege der russischen und amerikanischen Raumfahrt zu erwerben. 

Das Thema der Astrophilatelie wird uns noch einige Zeit begleiten, da noch weitere Schätze im Zulauf sind bzw. schon 

eingeliefert wurden. Ein Beispiel dafür ist das Tagebuch vom 51. Kosmonauten Anatoli Nikolaievich Berezovoy, welches 

er auf der Orbitalstation Saljut 7 über einen Zeitraum von 211 Tagen geführt hat – und welches uns tiefe Einblicke in 

seine persönlichen und beruflichen Gedanken sowie Gefühle gibt.

Space: the final frontier... 

Who among us is not fascinated and drawn to the adventures of manned space flight, of the great technological achievements 

and dreams, of challenges to be overcome, and of the daring men and women who met them? 

The great dream of mankind to overcome gravity and explore the universe has been around since time immemorial, and 

started to come to fruition in the middle of the 20th century. 

Laika the Russian space dog – the first creature in space in 1957, Yuri Gagarin the first man in space in 1961, Neil Armstrong 

in 1969 taking the first step on the moon. All of these milestones and more are burned into the collective conscious of 

mankind. 

It wasn’t always a friendly race to the stars, but it certainly was a competitive one that led to the great powers – Russia, 

America, and later China – to build the space stations: Soyuz, Skylab, MIR and later the ISS, the International Space Station. 

Many of these unique events were documented by envelopes and artefacts that were either officially issued by space agencies 

or were private documents belonging to the cosmonauts and astronauts, revealing an intimate look into their thought 

processes at the time. 

We are extremely proud to be able to present a large number of these sometimes unique items that document this historical 

process from the Russian and American space race to you. These items come from several world renowned international 

collectors and curators. In addition to the Apollo letters, that were actually on the moon (including the most expensive piece 

of space philately known to us) and a collection of over 200 space philatelic items from life in space, there is also a large 

amount of original pieces documenting the Russian and American space travel. 

Space philately will be an ongoing theme with us for a while, there are other treasures that are still waiting to be discovered 

that are with us already or on the way to us. An example of this is the dairy of the 51st cosmonaut Anatoly Nikolayevich 

Berezovoy, which he had with him on the orbital space station Salyut 7, over a period of 211 days, which gives deep insights 

to his personal and professional thoughts and feelings.

1972-2016, the fascination and spell of Space Philately with approx. 210 cosmic covers of Soviet and Russian missions starting with 

Sojus 12, followed by Saljut 3/Sojus 15 and the following space stations Saljut 4 to 7, whose development and (partly short) life cycle 

get profusely documented. Chronologically succeeded by the several MIR stages and the international co-operation regarding the ISS - 

every single piece has been physically in space! Most of the Sojus and Space Shuttle flights to the MIR and ISS are included as-well as 

unmanned Soviet and Russian Progress, European ATV, Japanese HTV, and American Dragon and Cygnus resupply flights. An impressive 

number of these covers, which have travelled in total billions of kilometres in space, got signed by space travellers - incl. some complete 

Shuttle Crew signatures. Most of the more than 80 covers incl. content are one of a kinds from exceptional people - many of those 

holding records. You can see private New Year's Eve wishes of the cosmonaut Juri Romanenko to his family from 1978, a cover from 

the team physician Wadim Schewtchenko which got transported by Discovery STS-128 to the ISS, extensive covers of Gennadi Padalka 

(record holder as the human who was longest in space), covers being transported to earth with the last flights of the Space Shuttles 

Endeavour STS-134 and Atlantis STS-135, and many more. With this specific focus and its completeness unrepeatable collection (see

Collection, payment, results and after sale of unsold lots 

Collection 

Collection is possible directly after the 

auction, when your lot(s) have been 

paid for. In this case, we would ask 

you to inform the reception staff that 

you would like to collect your items 

directly. You can also collect your lots 

in the weeks after the auction; to do so, 

please make an appointment. 

Payment 

When collecting the lots, you have the 

option of paying in cash, by cheque or 

by debit card. 

Advanced payment 

Auction lots will only be delivered to 

new or relatively new buyers when they 

have been paid for in advance. Following 

the auction, you will receive an 

invoice and we will hand over the items 

in person or forward them to you once 

payment has been received. 

Customers abroad: we kindly 

ask you to proceed payment 

of your invoice amount only 

by Bank Transfer. We do not 

accept cheques anymore. 

Our General Auction Conditions 

shall apply. Every auction invoice 

becomes due as soon as it is 

received. You will only be entitled

General auction conditions 

Which are also applicable exclusively without written 

acknowledgement upon submission of personal or written bids. 

1. The auctioneer acts in his own name for the 

account of his client, who remains anonymous (as 

commission agent). 

2. During the auction, the auctioneer reserves the 

right to combine or separate the lot numbers of the 

catalogue, to offer these out of sequence or to 

withdraw them. 

3. The items to be auctioned can be viewed prior to 

the auction. The catalogue descriptions are given to 

the best of our knowledge and belief and are no 

guaranties according to the Sale of Goods Act. The 

auction house accepts no liability for defects, insofar 

as it has complied with its duty of care. Apart from 

collections, the auction house does however engage 

to claim warranty rights from the supplier for justified 

claims, which must be notified to the auction house 

at the latest within one week of receipt of the item, 

within the 1 year period of limitation. In the event of a 

successful claim against the supplier, the paid 

purchase price, including the buyer’s premium, will 

be refunded. Any additional claim, including 

compensation for the costs of the claim, such as 

postage, inspection fees, etc., is excluded. 

4. Knockdown takes place to the highest bidder after 

it has been proclaimed three times. In justified cases, 

the auctioneer can refuse to knockdown or to award 

it subject to a proviso. The auctioneer can withdraw 

the knockdown and offer the item again, where a bid 

that was made in time was overlooked or where the 

highest bidder does not wish for his bid to stand, or 

where other doubts arise as to the knockdown. Where 

bids are made to the same value, a written bid has 

priority over a bid in the room. Telephoned bids must 

be subsequently confirmed in writing. The Auctioneer 

will accept no liability whatsoever for establishing the 

telephone connection or for the communication of 

bids – including those 

submitted by e-mail or via the internet. In the event 

of a knockdown subject to a proviso, until 

clarification with the supplier has been obtained, the 

bidder is bound by his bid for a minimum of six 

weeks; the same applies where bids lower than 

starting price are given and sales of unsold lots after 

completion of the auction. Bids such as “best” also 

rise by up to ten times the proclaimed price. 

5. Participation via the internet („Live-Bidding“) and 

use of the systems is limited by the auction houses 

equipment and the current technical state of said 

equipment. The auction house reserves the right to 

implement any changes to said equipment to 

improve the service provided. The participants accept 

that technical faults can occur and shall inform the 

auction house when this happens. The auction 

house/auctioneer shall not be liable for any 

disruption to the online connection nor for the 

compatibility of the hardware and software used. 

Sellers and bidders have no claims against the 

auction house/auctioneer, if a bid or closure does not 

come through or is delayed. 

6. Upon knockdown being given, the risk for loss or 

damage beyond the control of the auctioneer, passes 

to the purchaser. Ownership of the purchased item 

only passes to the purchaser when complete payment 

has been made to the auction house. 

7. The obligation to accept arises with the knockdown. 

The items are to be received immediately after the 

auction. If the purchaser requires shipment within 

Germany, this shall be provided at his own expense 

and, insofar as he is also a businessman, at his own 

risk. 

8. The sale of auction lots is subject to differential 

taxation. The acquisition price forms the basis for 

calculating the premium to be paid by the buyer. A fee 

of €2 is charged per auction lot. No VAT is indicated 

for goods that are subject to differential taxation. 

For buyers in European Union countries: Consumers 

pay a standard premium of 23,8% plus lot fee, 

postage and insurance. 

For Traders (as defined in the German VAT Act 

–UStG) pay a premium of 23,8% on goods that are 

subject to differential taxation (this premium 

includes 19% VAT) plus lot fee, postage and 

insurance. In the case of goods that are subject to 

regular taxation, a premium of 20% is charged, plus 

19% VAT charged on the total sum of acquisition 

price, premium, lot fee and postage/insurance. The 

movement of goods within the EU can be exempted 

from VAT in accordance with statutory provisions. 

For buyers resident in third-party countries (outside 

the EU): Buyers pay a 20% premium plus lot fee, 

postage and insurance. If Auktionshaus Ulrich 

Felzmann GmbH & Co. KG exports the goods to 

third-party countries itself, the invoice will not 

contain VAT. If the goods are exported by the buyer 

him/herself or via a third party, VAT will be charged 

and reimbursed on presentation of the necessary 

proof of export.In all cases, the buyer him/herself will 

assume any import taxes or customs duties. 

A premium of 20% will be charged for gold coins that 

are exempt from VAT. 

9. The invoiced amount becomes due with the 

knockdown and is payable in cash or by means of a 

bank certified cheque. Payments by external 

purchasers, who have bid in writing or by phone, 

become due within one week of the date of invoice. 

Where the purchase is made for a third party, the 

bidder shall be liable together with the third party as 

a joint and several debtor. 

10.In the event of a payment delay or refusal to accept 

the acquired lots, the buyer shall lose his/her rights 

relating to the acquisition price. Interest of 1.5% per 

month shall be charged in the event of a payment 

delay. In addition, the auction house can demand, as 

it sees fit, fulfilment or, after setting a deadline, 

compensation for non-fulfilment. The compensation 

can also be calculated in such a way that the item is 

auctioned again in a further auction and the 

defaulting purchaser is liable for any reduced 

proceeds compared with the previous auction and 

the special costs for repeat auctioning, including the 

fees of the auctioneer. In the event that sold lots are 

not paid for in full within a maximum of three months 

after the original auction date, the Auctioneer shall 

invoice said purchaser for at least the forgone 

auctioneer’s fees as compensation for non-fulfilment. 

The onus shall be on the purchaser to demonstrate 

that the Auctioneer did not incur any damages or 

incurred damages of a significantly lesser degree than 

the amount in question. 

11. The place of fulfilment and jurisdiction for 

transactions between merchants is Düsseldorf. 

German law applies; the regulations of the United 

Nations Sale of Goods Act do not apply. 

12. The afore-mentioned conditions do also apply to 

any lot sale after the date of auction. The regulations 

of mail order sale do neither apply to the auction sale 

nor any sale after the date of auction. The sale of 

unsold lots is only possible for a limited amount of 

time. A winning bid which has been awarded via 

online catalogue, an online platform, telephone, 

email, or any other form will only be considered 

binding upon receipt of an invoice. The surcharges 

are calculated in line with point 8 of these terms and 

conditions. 

13. If one of the above mentioned conditions shall be 

wholly or partly void, this shall not affect the validity 

of the remaining conditions. In case of any 

discrepancies between the German and the English 

language version of these General Auction 

Conditions as well as any lot description the German 

language version is relevant.

vor der Auktion besichtigt werden. Die nach bestem 

Wissen und Gewissen vorgenommenen 

Katalogbeschreibungen sind keine Garantien im 

Sinne des Kaufrechts. Das Auktionshaus übernimmt 

keine Haftung für Mängel, soweit es die ihm 

obliegenden Sorgfaltspflichten eingehalten hat. 

Außer bei Sammlungen verpflichtet sich das 

Auktionshaus jedoch, wegen begründeter 

Mängelrügen, die ihm bis spätestens eine Woche 

nach Empfang der Sachen anzuzeigen sind, innerhalb 

der Verjährungsfrist von einem Jahr seine 

Gewährleistungsansprüche gegenüber dem 

Einlieferer geltend zu machen. Im Falle erfolgreicher 

Inanspruchnahme des Einlieferers wird der gezahlte 

Kaufpreis einschließlich des Aufgeldes erstattet; ein 

darüber hinausgehender Anspruch – auch auf 

Erstattung von Kosten der Reklamation wie Porti, 

Prüfgebühren u.a. – ist ausgeschlossen. 

4. Der Zuschlag erfolgt nach dreimaligem Aufruf an 

den Höchstbietenden. Der Versteigerer kann in 

begründeten Fällen den Zuschlag verweigern oder 

unter Vorbehalt erteilen. Er kann den Zuschlag 

zurücknehmen und die Sache erneut ausbieten, wenn 

ein rechtzeitig abgegebenes Gebot übersehen 

worden ist oder wenn der Höchstbietende sein Gebot 

nicht gelten lassen will oder sonstige Zweifel über 

den Zuschlag bestehen. Bei gleichhohen Geboten hat 

ein schriftliches Gebot Vorrang vor Geboten im Saal. 

Telefonische Gebote bedürfen nachfolgender 

Bestätigung in Schriftform, wie auch der Versteigerer 

grundsätzlich keinerlei Haftung für das 

Zustandekommen der Telefonverbindung und der 

Übermittlung bzw. des Empfangs der – auch der per 

Email oder über das Internet abgegebenen – Gebote 

übernimmt. Bei Vorbehaltszuschlägen ist der Bieter 

bis zur Klärung mit dem Einlieferer an sein Gebot 

gebunden, mindestens jedoch sechs Wochen; das 

gleiche gilt bei Abgabe von Untergeboten und 

Nachverkauf. Gebote wie „bestens“ steigern bis zum 

zehnfachen Ausrufpreis mit. 

5. Die Teilnahme über das Internet („Live-Bidding“) 

und die Nutzung der dafür vom Auktionshaus bereit 

gehaltenen Systeme ist beschränkt auf den Stand der 

aktuellen technischen Ausstattung des 

Auktionshauses. Das Auktionshaus behält sich vor, 

entsprechende Änderungen zu implementieren. Die 

Teilnehmer akzeptieren, dass technische Störungen 

auftreten können und sind gehalten, das 

Auktionshaus entsprechend zu informieren. 

Auktionshaus und Auktionator haften nicht für 

Störungen der Online-Verbindung, ebenso nicht für 

die Kompatibilität der verwendeten Hard- und 

Software. Verkäufer und Bieter haben keine 

Ansprüche gegen Auktionshaus und Auktionator, 

wenn ein Gebot bzw. Zuschlag nicht bzw. nicht 

rechtzeitig zustande kommt. 

6. Mit der Erteilung des Zuschlags geht die Gefahr für 

nicht zu vertretende Verluste oder Beschädigungen 

auf den Erwerber über. Das Eigentum an der 

ersteigerten Sache wird erst mit vollständigem 

Zahlungseingang beim Auktionshaus auf den 

Erwerber übertragen. 

7. Der Zuschlag verpflichtet zur Abnahme. Die Sachen 

sind sofort nach der Auktion in Empfang zu nehmen. 

Falls im Inland der Erwerber Versendung wünscht, 

geht sie auf seine Kosten und, soweit er selbst 

Unternehmer ist, auch auf seine Gefahr. 

8. Die zu versteigernden Lose werden 

differenzbesteuert verkauft. Die Berechnungsgrundlage 

für das vom Käufer zu zahlende Aufgeld 

bildet der Zuschlagspreis. 

Pro Auktionslos wird eine Gebühr von € 2,- erhoben. 

Bei differenzbesteuerter Ware wird keine 

Mehrwertsteuer ausgewiesen. 

Für Käufer aus Ländern der Europäischen Union gilt: 

Verbraucher zahlen einheitlich ein Aufgeld von 23,8 

% zuzüglich Losgebühr, Porto und Versicherung. 

Für Gewerbetreibende im Sinne des UStG zahlen bei 

differenzbesteuerter Ware 23,8 % Aufgeld 

(im Aufgeld ist die gesetzliche Mehrwertsteuer von 

19% enthalten) zuzüglich Losgebühr, Porto und 

Versicherung. Für Händler wird bei regelbesteuerter 

Ware ein Aufgeld von 20 % zuzüglich 19 % MwSt. auf 

die Summe aus Zuschlag, Aufgeld, Losgebühr und 

Porto/Versicherung erhoben. Der innereuropäische 

Warenverkehr kann gemäß den gesetzlichen 

Bestimmungen von der Umsatzsteuer befreit werden. 

Für Käufer mit Wohnsitz in Drittländern (außerhalb 

der EU) gilt: Käufer zahlen 20 % Aufgeld zuzüglich 

Losgebühr, Porto und Versicherung. Führt das 

Auktionshaus Ulrich Felzmann GmbH & Co. KG die 

Ware selbst in Drittländer aus, wird die Rechnung 

ohne gesetzliche Umsatzsteuer erstellt. Wird die 

Ware vom Käufer selbst oder durch Dritte ins 

Drittland ausgeführt, wird die gesetzliche 

Umsatzsteuer berechnet, bei Vorlage der 

notwendigen Ausfuhrnachweise erstattet. 

Im Drittland anfallende Importsteuern oder Zölle 

trägt der Käufer in jedem Fall selbst. 

Für Goldmünzen, die umsatzsteuerbefreit sind, gilt 

ein Aufgeld von 20 %. 

9. Der Rechnungsbetrag ist mit dem Zuschlag fällig 

und zahlbar in bar oder durch bankbestätigten 

Scheck. Zahlungen auswärtiger Erwerber, die 

schriftlich oder telefonisch geboten haben, sind 

binnen einer Woche nach Rechnungsdatum fällig. Bei 

Kauf für einen Dritten haftet der Bieter mit diesem 

als Gesamtschuldner. 

10. Bei Zahlungsverzug oder Abnahmeverweigerung 

der zugeschlagenen Lose verliert der Käufer seine 

Rechte aus dem Zuschlag. Als Verzugsschaden 

werden 1,5 % Zinsen pro Monat berechnet. Im 

Übrigen kann das Auktionshaus wahlweise Erfüllung 

oder nach Fristsetzung Schadensersatz wegen 

Nichterfüllung verlangen; der Schadensersatz kann 

dabei auch so berechnet werden, dass die Sache in 

einer weiteren Auktion nochmals versteigert wird und 

der säumige Käufer für einen Mindererlös gegenüber 

der früheren Versteigerung und die besonderen 

Kosten der wiederholten Versteigerung einschließlich 

der Gebühren des Versteigerers aufzukommen hat. 

Bei der endgültigen Nichtabnahme zugeschlagener 

Lose, spätestens jedoch drei Monate nach dem 

ursprünglichen Versteigerungstermin, stellt der 

Versteigerer dem Schuldner mindestens die 

ausgefallenen Versteigerungsprovisionen als 

Schadensersatz wegen Nichterfüllung in Rechnung. 

Dem Schuldner bleibt vorbehalten nachzuweisen, 

dass dem Versteigerer ein Schaden überhaupt nicht 

oder in wesentlich geringerer Höhe als diese 

Pauschale entstanden ist. 

11. Erfüllungsort und Gerichtsstand für den 

kaufmännischen Verkehr ist Düsseldorf. Es gilt 

deutsches Recht; das UN-Abkommen über Verträge 

des internationalen Warenkaufs findet keine 

Anwendung. 

12. Vorstehende Bedingungen gelten sinngemäß auch 

für den Nachverkauf. Die Bestimmungen über 

Verkäufe im Fernabsatz finden keine Anwendung. Der 

Nachverkauf unverkaufter Lose findet für einen 

begrenzten Zeitraum statt. Die über einen 

Onlinekatalog oder eine Onlineplattform erteilten 

Zuschläge oder Zusagen über einen Zuschlag per 

Email, Telefon oder sonstige Art, gelten erst ab 

Zugang der Rechnung als verbindlich. Zu den 

Zuschlagsbeträgen werden die Aufgelder gemäß 

Punkt 8 dieser Bedingungen berechnet. 

13. Sollte eine der vorstehenden Bedingungen ganz 

oder teilweise unwirksam sein, bleibt die Gültigkeit 

der übrigen davon unberührt. Bei fremdsprachiger 

Losbeschreibung ist stets die deutsche Fassung 

maßgeblich.

Mit der Abgabe von Geboten für Lose aus der NS-Zeit, die mit NS-Emblemen und/oder NS-Symbolen oder ähnlichem versehen sind, verpflichtet sich der Bieter 

dazu, diese lediglich für historisch-wissenschaftliche Sammelzwecke zu erwerben und in keiner Weise propagandistisch im Sinne des § 86, 86a StGB zu benutzen.

Live-Bidding 

Sie können sich als Bieter live in Echtzeit 

an der Auktion beteiligen und direkt 

vom heimischen PC aus mitbieten. Dies 

ist bei uns ohne Zusatzsoftware möglich. 

Auch Java muss nicht installiert 

sein. Sie müssen sich lediglich vor der

Abholung, Zahlungarten, Ergebnisse und Nachverkauf 

Abholung 

Ihre ersteigerten Lose können Sie 

unmittelbar im Anschluss bezahlen und 

mitnehmen. Dafür melden Sie sich bitte 

am Empfang und geben Bescheid, dass 

Sie Ihre Ware abholen möchten. Sie können 

Ihre Ware selbstverständlich auch in 

den Wochen nach der Auktion abholen. 

In dem Fall vereinbaren Sie am besten 

telefonisch einen Termin, nachdem Sie 

Ihre Rechnung erhalten haben. 

Zahlungsarten 

Sie haben die Möglichkeit Bar, per 

Scheck, oder per EC-Karte zu zahlen. 

Vorauskasse 

Die Lieferung von Auktionslosen erfolgt 

an Neukunden nur gegen Vorauskasse. 

Dies gilt ausnahmslos, es sei denn, es 

wurden bei Gebotsabgabe nachprüfbare 

persönliche Referenzen bzw. Bankreferenzen 

genannt. Nach der Auktion 

erhalten Sie Ihre Rechnung per Post und 

nach Zahlungseingang händigen wir 

Ihnen Ihre Ware aus oder schicken sie

Kunden aus dem Ausland bitten
