KARNATOVYKH NIKOLAV FYODOROVICH (Born in 1908, Kiev)
Author of subject paintings and landscapes. He worked in the genres of narrative, landscape, and still life. One of the founders of the Art of Socialist Realism. An author of
monumental painting, dedicated to the Great Patriotic War: “Encounter of the Veterans of the Great Patriotic War on the Brest lands”, “Captives under escort”, “The world’s
warriors”, “News from the continent”, “Far from the Motherland”, “View of Stalingrad theatre of war”. He began exhibiting in 1931. He regularly participated in city, regional,
zonal and All-Union art exhibitions. The most fruitful phase of his activity is in the 1950‘s. The works of N.F. Karnatovikh are presented in many regional museums and private
collections.

was widely reproduced in books, postcards and stamps.

Karnatovykh ist Mitbegründer des Sozialrealismus. Erzählerische und landschaftliche Darstellungen sowie Stillleben sind typisch für ihn. Er ist zudem ein Künstler des Monumentalen.
Hierbei widmete er sich insbesondere dem Thema des Grossen Patriotischen Krieges. Bekannte Werke sind u.a.: „Treffen der Veteranen des Grossen Patriotischen
Krieges auf Brest“, „Gefangene unter Bewachung“, „Weltkrieger”, „Nachrichten vom Kontinent”, „Weit von dem Vaterland” und „Ausblick von dem Kriegsschauplatz Stalingrads”.
Ab 1931 stellte er seine Werke aus. Regelmäßig nahm er an Kunstausstellungen auf städtischer, regionaler und zonaler Ebene sowie an den Kunstausstellungen der
Union teil. Seine künstlerisch produktivste Phase fällt in die 50er Jahre. Seine Werke sind heute in regionalen Museen und Privatsammlungen zu finden.

Zugeschrieben. 1970er. Öl auf Leinwand. 153 x 197 cm. Nach einer Recherche: Version des Gemäldes von N.N. Chebakov „Pavlik Morozov“, 1953. Das Werk wurde sehr berühmt
und wurde in Büchern, Postkarten und Briefmarken reproduziert.
