“Marine nature conservation and management<br />
at the borders of the European Union” (I)<br />
International Workshop to identify the main issues and<br />
discuss cooperation, approaches and instruments (English only)<br />
The international workshop has the overall aim to identify<br />
the main issues and problems of marine nature conservation<br />
(including fisheries) at the borders of the European Union:<br />
namely the Black Sea, the Mediterranean Sea, the <strong>Baltic</strong> Sea,<br />
the Atlantic Ocean and the French Overseas Departments.<br />
Short regional statements are followed by open discussions<br />
with lawyers, conservationists and other invited experts of<br />
several organisations and agencies.<br />
On Wednesday a project group of the German Research<br />
Foundation (DFG) will discuss the results of Monday’s session<br />
with the audience aiming to define elements of a common<br />
Ecosystem Approach managing human marine activity in<br />
a sustainable way.<br />
