WELCOME
DEAR VISITORS
It is a great pleasure for me to welcome you to the German Aerospace Industries
Association at the Zhuhai Airshow 2018. We are delighted to be part of
the exhibition again!
China has rapidly become the engine of growth for our industry. In recent
years, the volume of passengers just within China has multiplied significantly,
and the demand for aircraft is growing steadily. A multitude of cooperation
between German and Chinese companies have been made in the past years
for a strong market.
As China’s foremost aerospace event, Airshow China is an important gateway
to the booming Chinese and also for the Asian market. This exhibition is the
only international aerospace trade fair that is endorsed by the Chinese central
government and presents an impressive flight show.
It brings together heads of the international aviation and industry community,
including key political and military leaders, and has developed to be
one of the world’s indispensable exchange platforms for international OEMs,

suppliers, operators and political decision-makers. Thanks to these remarkable
assets, Airshow China serves as a springboard for German and European
aerospace companies outside of their home markets.
That’s why Germany is represented by almost 40 leading aerospace companies
– more than ever before. We are proud to present 33 of these exhibitors
at the German Pavilion supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs
and Energy. The event thus offers the perfect opportunity to showcase
our country’s cutting edge aerospace technology. Final assembly for one out
of every six commercial aircraft is carried out in Germany. Moreover, German
technology is in every aircraft built worldwide. Just as important, our country
is also home to leading manufacturers of engines and helicopters as well as
satellite and military aircraft technology. In short: thanks to non-stop innovation,
Germany is one of the leading aerospace nations in the world.
With its strong showing in Zhuhai, the German aerospace industry also highlights
the importance of another leading innovation fair: ILA Berlin, which will
take place from 13 to 17 May 2020 right in the heart of Europe. ILA has become
synonymous with Innovation and Leadership in Aerospace, and already today
we kindly invite our Chinese partners and friends to attend this event!
But now we look forward to welcoming you here at Airshow China in our German
Pavilion at hall 3, booth H3A3-1.
