RATING AND DECORATION GUIDE
387
We know you need products you can rely on. That’s why we
have tested our products to the highest standards so you
can buy confidently.
Y Resistance to water penetration class ( waterproofness )
Y Water vapour resistance class ( breathability )
R Readymade garment rain tower test ( optional ) *
* X is the value given if the product has not been
subjected to this test.
EN343
EN343 is the European Standard that specifies requirements and
test methods for the materials and seams of protective clothing
against the influence of precipitation (e.g. rain, snowflakes, fog and
ground humidity). Waterproofness and Water vapour resistance are
the essential properties which are tested.
The top number refers to the Waterproof level of which there are 3
classes. Class 3 being the highest level of waterproof protection.
INTELLIGENT
DIRECTIONAL
The bottom number refers to the level of Breathability level of
which there are 3 classes. Class 3 being the highest level of
breathability.
INTELLIGENT
DIRECTIONAL
ID-Reflection
When safety counts our Intelligent Directional Reflection
technology will ensure you’re seen from all angles. Our
angled chevrons allow people to know if you’re facing
towards or away from them at a glance, increasing
safety in low light.
To enable you to display your branding or corporate
messages in a workplace or promotional environment, all
Regatta products can be either embroidered or printed on.
EMBROIDERY
Perfect for hardwearing products that will be washed frequently.
The majority of products can be embroidered but the best results are
achieved when using thicker stitching on more durable fabrics such as
fleece. Waterproof products can be damaged around the embroidery
section, reducing the over-all water resistance.
risk situations – The standard specifies requirements for enhanced
visibility 2 equipment in the form of garments, 2 or devices, which are
capable of signalling the user’s presence. The enhanced visibility
equipment is intended to provide more conspicuous visibility of
SCREEN
Ideal for large quantities of product to give a clean crisp finish to the image
or logo. Most jackets and softshell products are suitable for screen printing
but we don’t recommend using this method on fleece or product which can
be damaged by high heat.
All Regatta Professional products are now free from all external branding
and have a cut out back neck label.
EN ISO 20471
EN ISO 20471 is the international standard that outlines the
requirements for high-visibility workwear for employees in high-risk
areas.
2
EN ISO 20471 is divided 1 into three classes, depending on the risk
zone you work in and how well the product is able to protect the
employee.
EN20471
EN20471
The number refers to the level of class that the garment has been
tested to and passed. There are 3 classes for this, class 3 being the
highest level of high-visibility workwear with the most fluro-material
and reflectors.
VINYL
Great for small quantities of of branding with less detailed logos or images.
The design is applied with heat pressure which makes it suitable for most
jackets and softshell products but not for fleece or products damaged by
high heat.
EN14404
RIS-3279-TOM
EN14404
EN 14404 is the European standard that sets
requirements for knee pads to best protect the
user’s knees. The requirements test different
elements of the knee pads to ensure the wearer is
comfortable while kneeling for long periods, the
ability to absorb impact and stop sharp objects
penetrating the area.
RIS-3279-TOM
RIS-3279-TOM is a high visibility standard that only
applies to the rail industry in the UK. This standard
ensures that rail workers on or near the trackside
are sufficiently visible to trains approaching at
EN14404
speed or any other traffic.
TRANSFER
The best option for detailed images or logos giving a direct replication
of what is shown on screen on the product. Digital transfers can be
applied to most garments but works best on jackets and softshells. We
don’t recommend digital transfers on fleece or products damaged by
high heat.
• We do not recommend embroidering waterproofs as this puntures the fabric and renders
it no longer waterproof and invalidates the guarantee
• Heat pressed testing was conducted between 140-170 degress Celsius
• We recommend always using a teflon sheet when heat pressing to protect the garment
• We recommend always using opaque / blockout vinyls to help avoid dye migration.
For best results use dye block when screen printing
• Always seek expert advice before decorating garment
• Regatta takes no responsibility for the decoration of garments or any resultant damage
• All lined garments have decoration access
