The Carter Observatory is located in Wellington’s beautiful<br />
Botanic Gardens just 2 minutes walk from the top of the<br />
Cable Car. Carter Observatory’s aim is to inspire visitors<br />
through the stories they tell of our southern skies. Take<br />
a virtual journey through space in Carter’s Pelorus Trust<br />
Planetarium - a state-of-the-art full-dome digital theatre,<br />
then take your own steps through space as you walk<br />
through the world-class interactive multimedia space<br />
experience. Celebrate our Southern Skies, along with some<br />
of NZ’s most prestigious telescopes and astronomical<br />
artefacts. Open from 10am to 5pm daily plus extended<br />
hours to 9.30pm on Tuesdays & Saturday evenings. Show<br />
times commence from 11am. Allow at least 90 minutes to<br />
