1971<br />
In 1971 an interim meeting of delegates was called in October<br />
and the contribution per child from each school was doubled to<br />
finance the travel expenses of at least a West Coast and a<br />
Midwest representative to the October meeting starting in 1972.<br />
The earliest minutes in the Association files are dated November<br />
13, 1971.<br />

The reality of an “Association” was accepted.<br />
Several new schools were birthed: a new kindergarten in Boston,<br />
a farm initiative in Harlemville, and a kindergarten at Pine Hill.<br />
Dues raised to $1.50/student.<br />

Ekkehard Piening agreed to serve as <strong>AWSNA</strong> Chairman, John<br />
Brousseau as Treasurer. Eleven schools were represented. David<br />
Mitchell from the Rudolf Steiner Country School in Copake was<br />
welcomed to the circle.<br />
Toronto dedicated a new building.<br />
1973<br />
A majority of schools agreed to contribute toward the cost of<br />
sending a representative from North America to the meeting of<br />
delegates of European schools at Whitsun in The Hague.<br />
