During a visit <strong>to</strong> CFB Esquimalt,<br />

MGen Benjamin, the Chief of Staff<br />

from the Assistant Deputy Minister<br />

for Infrastructure and Environment<br />

ADM(IE) and Canadian Military<br />

Engineers Chief Engineer, made the<br />

following presentations at a ceremony<br />

in the Wardroom on Dec. 14:<br />

ADM(IE) Realty Asset Management<br />

Achievement Award (Individual) for<br />

his significant and innovative contributions<br />

<strong>to</strong> the development of CFB<br />

Esquimalt’s Master Real Property<br />

Development Plan (MRPDP), soon<br />

<strong>to</strong> be the first of its kind <strong>to</strong> be<br />

approved for the CF.<br />

HMCS Algonquin Fire Services Section was awarded the ADM(IE) Fire Services<br />

Award (Group). Algonquin was the first ship in the West Coast fleet <strong>to</strong> complete<br />

the “Phase 1” issue and integration of the new Drager SCBAs and related equipment.<br />

Algonquin was also first <strong>to</strong> complete the full annual servicing requirement<br />

for this new equipment using the new Drager support facility located on the<br />

BC Mainland. The team included Dave Salva<strong>to</strong>re, LCdr Brennan Blanchfield, Sgt<br />

Steve Bur<strong>to</strong>n, MCpl Gerry Wicht, MCpl Jeremy Buckingham, Cpl Mike Lavers and<br />

Cpl Noah Eckenswiller.
