4. Part 2: New European Valve Outlet Connections (NEVOC) recommendation
EIGA recommends, that if there is a requirement for a new valve outlet, e.g. due to pressure increase,
new gas mixture or for a new medical gas mixture, then the valve outlet corresponding to this new
application shall be selected in accordance with the latest version of ISO 5145 2003.
Annexes Part 2
Annex 1 Adapters (example for nitrogen)
6. Adapters
Due to the fact that it is expected to have two parallel valve outlet connection systems in Europe for a
long period of time:
a) National valve outlet standards (Part1)
b) New European valve outlet connections (Part 2)
There are two choices to provide interchangeability:
1) Equipment used connected to the cylinder valve should be changed to the appropriate valve
outlet connection of the new European valve outlet connection in order to ensure safe operation.
