in Buenos Aires every Saturday and Sunday (Optimist and Cadet).<br />

Sol is 12 and Agustina is 15. I have a brother living in Miami and<br />

always invite them to go visit him and attend a summer camp. No<br />

doubt it would be a great experience.<br />

Comments: I am looking to be a crew member on your races. I<br />

sailed on a Morgan ‘24 during the season on the Metedeconk Yacht<br />

<strong>Club</strong> from 1980 until 2000. I moved to Fort Myers in 2000 and last<br />

March I bought a house in Weston. Please let me know if somebody<br />

GROVE'S NEST NEEDS YOU!<br />

The official CGSC photo-shoot was a great success thanks to all<br />

the club member participation and key volunteers. Dominic Marsden<br />

took professional photographs aboard Rob Quinlivan’s yacht Slante’<br />

while Mike Lovelady swam from boat to boat offering his crew<br />

skills. There was just enough wind to safely hoist all the spinnakers.<br />

Many members stated that it was great a <strong>Club</strong> event having all the<br />

different member sailboats on the bay at the same time. After a full<br />

day of interesting sailing, our chef Ryan provided a great American<br />

cookout. Cleanup was handed by the Kid’s sailing program (free<br />

leftovers). It was suggested that the <strong>Club</strong> should host more “low<br />

impact” sailing events. So, please bring your ideas.<br />

The <strong>Club</strong> is seeking volunteers during the last week of <strong>October</strong><br />

to spruce-up the <strong>Grove</strong>’s Nest. The activities will include: (1)<br />

carefully removing and saving all the existing pictures, (2) painting<br />

the walls, (3) replacing the carpet, (4) upgrading the stereo, (5)<br />

installing a dartboard, (6) replacing the bar rail, and finally (6)<br />

installing the new pictures and frames. Wow a new bar! Volunteers<br />

will be provided a ration of beer equivalent to their efforts. Yes, Free<br />

Beer! Please see Chuck for details. The new picture frames will be<br />

a smaller size (same size picture but no matting). There will be plenty<br />

of available space for all member sailboats. So, please bring your<br />

photographs to Chuck the manager. The cost to install your picture<br />

will be $20 (half to the kids program and the reminder for the frame<br />

and a brass nameplate). The <strong>Club</strong> is also seeking Christmas light<br />

donations. We are planning to participate in the <strong>Coconut</strong> <strong>Grove</strong><br />

Holiday Light Contest. Please bring your extra lights to the club.<br />
