Our Member Service Department is also available to assist in these situations and is happy to contact the provider of service to advise them that we are responsible for payment. Puget Sound Health Partners offers coverage for emergent and urgent medical needs anywhere in the world. A “medical emergency” is when you believe that your health is in serious danger. A medical emergency can include severe pain, a bad injury, a sudden illness, or a medical condition that is quickly getting much worse. “Urgent care” is a non-emergency situation when you need medical care right away because of an illness, injury, or condition that you did not expect or anticipate, but your health is not in serious danger. For more information see your EOC. If you are experiencing an emergency or have an urgent medical need you should get help as quickly as possible. You do not need to get approval or a referral first from your PCP. You may get covered services wherever you need them. For more information see your EOC.
