20. A fall of <strong>horse</strong> or rider in any of <strong>the</strong> ridden classes will result in elimination of <strong>the</strong> rider from that class. The rider is<br />

strongly advised to see a Doctor before continuing to compete in any o<strong>the</strong>r classes.<br />

This rule will apply in <strong>2012</strong> to ALL CLASSES except those affiliated to British <strong>Show</strong>jumping whose own rule on this<br />

subject (in accordance with <strong>the</strong> <strong>2012</strong> Rule Book) will apply in British <strong>Show</strong>jumping affiliated classes.<br />

Any rider continuing to compete after a fall without seeing a Doctor will compete at <strong>the</strong>ir own risk <strong>and</strong> on <strong>the</strong>ir own<br />

responsibility.<br />

Doctors are available throughout <strong>Show</strong>day at <strong>the</strong> First Aid tent, or can be called to <strong>the</strong> site of an accident if need be.<br />

21. Not all classes are eligible for Wales & Border Counties points awards. You are advised to check.<br />

22. This show includes qualifiers for <strong>the</strong> South West “Pony of <strong>the</strong> Year” Championships 2013. See class entries in <strong>the</strong><br />

<strong>schedule</strong>. Owners of ponies which qualify for <strong>the</strong> South West “Pony of <strong>the</strong> Year” Championships MUST become<br />

members WITHIN 14 DAYS of this qualifying show or <strong>the</strong> card will become invalid. Qualifying classes <strong>and</strong><br />

Championship - for details contact Horse Section Secretary.<br />

This show is a qualifier for <strong>the</strong> PONIES (UK) WINTER CHAMPIONSHIPS. Classes 5,6,7,8,9,10,20,21,40,41,70-73,74-<br />

79 are qualifier. 1st, 2nd <strong>and</strong> 3rd places in each class will qualify. Competors in qualifying posions who are not<br />

members of <strong>the</strong> Ponies Associaon (UK) are allowed 14 days in which to become members <strong>and</strong> register <strong>the</strong>ir<br />

<strong>horse</strong>s/ponies for <strong>the</strong> qualificaon to remain valid. No Qualificaon Cards will be awarded in <strong>the</strong> ring, placings will<br />

be confirmed by results sent in by <strong>the</strong> <strong>Show</strong> Secretary.<br />

23. REFUNDS: Refunds of entry fees will be considered providing an appropriate veterinary certificate is made available.<br />

The <strong>Show</strong> reserves <strong>the</strong> right to retain £2 per animal to cover admin costs.<br />

24. All competitors, when riding anywhere on <strong>the</strong> <strong>Show</strong>ground, MUST wear <strong>the</strong> relevant back number.<br />

Equine Passport advice: All competitors/owners must have with <strong>the</strong>m <strong>the</strong> correct equine passport for <strong>the</strong> animals present<br />

on <strong>the</strong> showground, on <strong>the</strong> day. Trading St<strong>and</strong>ards have <strong>the</strong> right to attend <strong>the</strong> show <strong>and</strong> ask to see <strong>the</strong> passport, <strong>and</strong> in<br />

<strong>the</strong> event of veterinary treatment, <strong>the</strong> passport may be needed to be signed by <strong>the</strong> vet.<br />

GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS<br />

1. All competitors in <strong>the</strong> Agricultural Section of <strong>the</strong> <strong>Show</strong>, must be Members of <strong>the</strong> Club, <strong>and</strong> reside, or directly own farml<strong>and</strong>,<br />

in <strong>the</strong> former County of Gwent. All o<strong>the</strong>r sections of <strong>the</strong> <strong>Show</strong> are “Open”, unless o<strong>the</strong>rwise stated in Class Regulations.<br />

2. The Annual Subscription, due on 1st April each year, shall be as follows:<br />

Ordinary Membership – £20, Gold Membership – £25 Members receive two Members' Badges for admission to <strong>the</strong> <strong>Show</strong>.<br />

3. ALL ENTRIES to be made on <strong>the</strong> appropriate printed form to reach <strong>the</strong> Secretary not later than August 14th, unless<br />

o<strong>the</strong>rwise stated in Section Schedules. LATE ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED (unless stated o<strong>the</strong>rwise).<br />

4. All exhibitors must provide proper attendants for securing all Animals to <strong>the</strong> satisfaction of <strong>the</strong> Stewards.<br />

5. The Committee shall arrange <strong>the</strong> Schedule of Prizes, <strong>and</strong> have power to fix such entrance fees as <strong>the</strong>y may consider<br />

desirable, inclusive of classes whose prizes are offered by Sponsors.<br />

6. All Exhibitors, <strong>and</strong> o<strong>the</strong>rs in charge of exhibits must obey <strong>the</strong> order of Stewards. Refusal to do so will disqualify, <strong>and</strong><br />

make <strong>the</strong>ir exhibits liable to removal from <strong>the</strong> <strong>Show</strong>ground.<br />

7. All objections to be delivered in writing to <strong>the</strong> Secretary within one hour of <strong>the</strong> class being judged with a deposit of<br />

£15, which shall be forfeited if <strong>the</strong> objection is considered frivolous. Stewards shall, where practicable, deal with<br />

objections, <strong>and</strong> where necessary, call in a Veterinary Surgeon to examine <strong>the</strong> exhibit. If <strong>the</strong>ir decision is not accepted<br />

by <strong>the</strong> objector, <strong>the</strong> dispute shall be dealt with by <strong>the</strong> Sub-Committee.<br />

8. Any breach of <strong>the</strong> Rules <strong>and</strong> Regulations of <strong>the</strong> Club, or Conditions of Entry, will render Exhibitors liable to forfeit <strong>the</strong>ir<br />

prizes, <strong>and</strong> to be disqualified in such extent as <strong>the</strong> Sub-Committees appointed for <strong>the</strong> purpose may decide upon. The<br />

decision of <strong>the</strong> Sub- Committee on any matter arising out of <strong>the</strong>se Rules <strong>and</strong> Regulations, whe<strong>the</strong>r printed here or<br />

elsewhere in <strong>the</strong> Schedules, shall be final <strong>and</strong> binding.<br />

9. No exhibit to be removed from <strong>the</strong> Agricultural Section before 4.00 p.m. (for o<strong>the</strong>r exhibits see Section Schedules)<br />

without <strong>the</strong> permission in writing from <strong>the</strong> Chief Steward or Secretary.<br />

10. Entrance fees to be as stated in each Section Schedule.<br />

11. No prize will be awarded unless <strong>the</strong> Judge considers <strong>the</strong>re is sufficient merit.<br />

12. A Commemorative Award is available to a competitor winning a Challenge Cup for three years in succession<br />

(commencing 1984).<br />

13. Members showing stock shall not exhibit badge of office in <strong>the</strong> Ring.<br />

14. Each Exhibitor shall be solely responsible for <strong>and</strong> shall make good <strong>and</strong> repair any loss, damage or injury caused or<br />

occasioned by him, or by or through his exhibit, <strong>and</strong> shall indemnify <strong>and</strong> hold blameless <strong>the</strong> <strong>Usk</strong> Farmers' Club Limited<br />

against all legal <strong>and</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r proceedings in regard <strong>the</strong>reto.<br />

15. The Club shall not hold <strong>the</strong>mselves responsible for any loss of, or damage to any exhibit at <strong>the</strong> <strong>Show</strong>, or any o<strong>the</strong>r<br />

property belonging to any Exhibitor, or for any error of description in <strong>the</strong> Catalogue, or for any accident, injury or<br />

damage, however caused occurring to any Exhibitor, or his servant, or any o<strong>the</strong>r person attending <strong>the</strong> <strong>Show</strong>.<br />

16. All <strong>the</strong> Rules <strong>and</strong> Regulations printed in Section Schedules <strong>and</strong> Catalogue of <strong>the</strong> <strong>Show</strong>, shall be deemed to be part of<br />

<strong>the</strong> Rules of <strong>the</strong> Club, <strong>and</strong> binding on <strong>the</strong> Members accordingly. The Committee shall be empowered to appoint<br />

previously a Sub-Committee to settle on <strong>Show</strong> Day, any objection or disputes <strong>the</strong>n arising.<br />
