20. A fall of horse or rider in any of the ridden classes will result in elimination of the rider from that class. The rider is
strongly advised to see a Doctor before continuing to compete in any other classes.
This rule will apply in 2012 to ALL CLASSES except those affiliated to British Showjumping whose own rule on this
subject (in accordance with the 2012 Rule Book) will apply in British Showjumping affiliated classes.
Any rider continuing to compete after a fall without seeing a Doctor will compete at their own risk and on their own
responsibility.
Doctors are available throughout Showday at the First Aid tent, or can be called to the site of an accident if need be.
21. Not all classes are eligible for Wales & Border Counties points awards. You are advised to check.
22. This show includes qualifiers for the South West “Pony of the Year” Championships 2013. See class entries in the
schedule. Owners of ponies which qualify for the South West “Pony of the Year” Championships MUST become
members WITHIN 14 DAYS of this qualifying show or the card will become invalid. Qualifying classes and
Championship - for details contact Horse Section Secretary.
This show is a qualifier for the PONIES (UK) WINTER CHAMPIONSHIPS. Classes 5,6,7,8,9,10,20,21,40,41,70-73,74-
79 are qualifier. 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in each class will qualify. Competors in qualifying posions who are not
members of the Ponies Associaon (UK) are allowed 14 days in which to become members and register their
horses/ponies for the qualificaon to remain valid. No Qualificaon Cards will be awarded in the ring, placings will
be confirmed by results sent in by the Show Secretary.
23. REFUNDS: Refunds of entry fees will be considered providing an appropriate veterinary certificate is made available.
The Show reserves the right to retain £2 per animal to cover admin costs.
24. All competitors, when riding anywhere on the Showground, MUST wear the relevant back number.
Equine Passport advice: All competitors/owners must have with them the correct equine passport for the animals present
on the showground, on the day. Trading Standards have the right to attend the show and ask to see the passport, and in
the event of veterinary treatment, the passport may be needed to be signed by the vet.
GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. All competitors in the Agricultural Section of the Show, must be Members of the Club, and reside, or directly own farmland,
in the former County of Gwent. All other sections of the Show are “Open”, unless otherwise stated in Class Regulations.
2. The Annual Subscription, due on 1st April each year, shall be as follows:
Ordinary Membership – £20, Gold Membership – £25 Members receive two Members' Badges for admission to the Show.
3. ALL ENTRIES to be made on the appropriate printed form to reach the Secretary not later than August 14th, unless
otherwise stated in Section Schedules. LATE ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED (unless stated otherwise).
4. All exhibitors must provide proper attendants for securing all Animals to the satisfaction of the Stewards.
5. The Committee shall arrange the Schedule of Prizes, and have power to fix such entrance fees as they may consider
desirable, inclusive of classes whose prizes are offered by Sponsors.
6. All Exhibitors, and others in charge of exhibits must obey the order of Stewards. Refusal to do so will disqualify, and
make their exhibits liable to removal from the Showground.
7. All objections to be delivered in writing to the Secretary within one hour of the class being judged with a deposit of
£15, which shall be forfeited if the objection is considered frivolous. Stewards shall, where practicable, deal with
objections, and where necessary, call in a Veterinary Surgeon to examine the exhibit. If their decision is not accepted
by the objector, the dispute shall be dealt with by the Sub-Committee.
8. Any breach of the Rules and Regulations of the Club, or Conditions of Entry, will render Exhibitors liable to forfeit their
prizes, and to be disqualified in such extent as the Sub-Committees appointed for the purpose may decide upon. The
decision of the Sub- Committee on any matter arising out of these Rules and Regulations, whether printed here or
elsewhere in the Schedules, shall be final and binding.
9. No exhibit to be removed from the Agricultural Section before 4.00 p.m. (for other exhibits see Section Schedules)
without the permission in writing from the Chief Steward or Secretary.
10. Entrance fees to be as stated in each Section Schedule.
11. No prize will be awarded unless the Judge considers there is sufficient merit.
12. A Commemorative Award is available to a competitor winning a Challenge Cup for three years in succession
(commencing 1984).
13. Members showing stock shall not exhibit badge of office in the Ring.
14. Each Exhibitor shall be solely responsible for and shall make good and repair any loss, damage or injury caused or
occasioned by him, or by or through his exhibit, and shall indemnify and hold blameless the Usk Farmers' Club Limited
against all legal and other proceedings in regard thereto.
15. The Club shall not hold themselves responsible for any loss of, or damage to any exhibit at the Show, or any other
property belonging to any Exhibitor, or for any error of description in the Catalogue, or for any accident, injury or
damage, however caused occurring to any Exhibitor, or his servant, or any other person attending the Show.
16. All the Rules and Regulations printed in Section Schedules and Catalogue of the Show, shall be deemed to be part of
the Rules of the Club, and binding on the Members accordingly. The Committee shall be empowered to appoint
previously a Sub-Committee to settle on Show Day, any objection or disputes then arising.
