ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
The idea for this little book came from IFAW
colleagues working on elephants and the ivory
trade. They contributed to the original outline,
most of which still survives as the Table of
Contents.
A number of colleagues reviewed and
provided comments on earlier drafts, either of
individual chapters, or the entire manuscript.
They include: Kelvin Alie, Jason Bell, Gay
Bradshaw and Steve Njumbi, all of whom also
made individual contributions to one or more
chapters. Other reviewers of one or more
chapters include: Jan Hannah, Grace Gabriel,
Barry Kent Mackay, Vassili Papastavrou, Céline
Sissler-Bienvenu and Sue Wallace. Vivek
Menon provided a useful suggestion that was
incorporated into the text.
Kati Radziszewska located and downloaded
a number of the source documents in a
timely fashion. Sue Wallace prepared Figure
3 and proof-read various drafts of the entire
manuscript.
Opinions expressed in this document are
those of the contributors and may not reflect
precisely the current institutional positions
of IFAW or, necessarily, the views of individual
reviewers. Any remaining factual errors are the
responsibility of the editor.
