7. To say 'Assalaatoo-khairoom-minannaiom' twice after 'Hayya alal falah' in the Azan of Fajr<br />

Namaaz.<br />

Saying AZAAN without Wudhu is permissible but it is bad to make a habit of it.<br />

AZAAN is SUNNAT, but as it reveals a special glory of Islam, much stress is laid on it.<br />

Q. What is IQAAMAT?<br />

IQAAMAT<br />

A. IQAAMAT is to repeat the wordings of AZAAN at the beginning of FARZ Namaaz.<br />

Hayya 'alal falah<br />

Qad q'amatis sal'ah Qad q'amatis sal'ah<br />

The (Jammat) prayer is ready The (Jammat) prayer is ready<br />

AZAAN and IQAAMAT are SUNNAT for MEN only<br />

Iqaama is SUNNAT for FARZ Namaaz only. It is not Sunnah for any other Namaaz.<br />

Q. If anyone performs his Farz Salaat at home, should he say Azan and Iqaama?<br />

A. Azan and Iqaama in the neighboring Masjid will be sufficient, but it is better to say them at<br />

home also.<br />

Q. Should a traveler say Azan and Iqaama during a journey?<br />
