Doulton Filters 

Why a ceramic filter? 

The small and complex pore structure of 

Doulton ® ceramics makes them an ideal filter 

medium for drinking water. 

High Efficiency Filter: 

Doulton ® filters are capable of removing more than 99.99% 

of pathogenic bacteria, disease causing cysts such as 

Cryptosporidium and Giardia, and particles. 

Long Life/Value for Money: 

As confirmed by the user instructions supplied with 

the product, the outer shell of Doulton ® ceramic 

drinking water filters may be cleaned in order to 

prolong the life of the product. In this way, the filter 

can be re-used once rather than replaced, giving it a 

much longer life-span than many other products on 

the market, saving you money. 

On average, a Doulton ® filter candle will remain 

effective for at least 6 months (depending on usage 

and water quality) before it will need to be replaced. 

Anti-Bacterial Action: 

FICL’s ceramics contain a proprietary 

system to inhibit microbiological growth, 

meaning that there is no need to sterilise 

Doulton ® ceramic filters. 

Retains Essential Minerals: 

Doulton ® ceramic filters keep those minerals 

in the water, which are beneficial to health. 

No Power Required: 

Doulton ® drinking water filters do not require 

electricity to function, which means that they 

are cost-effective to run, are not vulnerable to

OMNIPURE Q SERIES FILTERS 

The two-piece design makes replacement fast, easy and cost 

effective. As with all Omnipure filters, the Q-Series is ideal for use in 

any situation where better tasting, sediment-free water is required: 

beverage equipment, R.O. systems, drinking fountains, ice machines, 

and other point of use applications. 

Standard media includes granular activated carbon for taste and 

odour reduction, polypropylene depth filtration for removal of dirt and 

sediment and polyphosphate to control lime and scale deposits.

MINI PRESSURE LIMITING VALVE 

Over pressure in piping systems

OPEN WATER SYSTEMS 

The convenient and safe way of sanitising 

water systems and still water environments 

Aqua Dosa TM sanitiser can be introduced into 

open systems by adding to water tanks in the 

appropriate dosage (1 litre treats a 300 - 400 litre 

system). The solution is then drawn through the 

system to all hot and cold water outlets. Aqua 

Dosa TM test strips can be used to establish that the 

solution has been drawn through (i.e. is, or is not, 

present). A small residue remaining in the system 

will cause no problems as Aqua Dosa TM breaks 

down to water and oxygen. 

Aqua Dosa TM sanitiser is available in a variety of 

convenient sizes and configurations as shown in 

the table below. 

The spray bottle and sanitising wipes are ideal for 

disinfecting taps, nozzles, drip trays and other 

external surfaces.

DIRECT FED MAINS SYSTEMS 

Sanitiser 

For direct fed mains systems such as water coolers, vending 

machines and closed water systems, we offer various housings and 

fittings for introducing Aqua Dosa TM Sanitiser. 

The Mini Dosa is ideal for use with coolers 

and vending machines when used in 

conjunction with the 100ml bottles of 

sanitiser. Just isolate the Mini Dosa from 

the water mains and fill the reservoir with 

Aqua Dosa TM . After 5 minutes, turn the water 

back on and draw through the system, using 

test strips to confirm that the solution has been 

fully flushed out. A small residue left in the 

system will be perfectly safe as Aqua Dosa TM 

breaks down to harmless oxygen and water. 

For larger domestic and light commercial water systems, our range of 

Cuno fittings and cartridges provide quick and convenient means of 

introducing Aqua Dosa TM sanitiser. The service engineer can simply 

disconnect the cartridge from the fitting, fill it with the sanitiser and 

replace. (The AP3E and AP2E fittings automatically cut off the mains 

when removed, for speedy operation). The solution is then drawn 

through the system. 

We recommend the use of TEST1 strips to confirm the concentration 

of sterilant on commercial systems.

HOW THE REGEN SERVICE WORKS 

Aqua Cure holds a pool of regenerated vessels in three 

popular sizes: 5 ltr, 10 ltr and 18 ltr. When a client sends 

us the exhausted vessels, they are inspected for missing 

parts and damage and any defects on the returns will be 

reported to the client, as replacements may be chargeable. 

Once the client has been made aware of any such costs, 

the corresponding number of vessels are despatched from 

the pool of regenerated vessels. 

All regenerated vessels are cleaned and pressure tested 

before despatch and each carries a unique serial number, 

allowing us to track the lifespan of the unit. 

It should be noted that you are very unlikely to get back 

the same vessel you sent us and the replacement may not 

look as new as the one you returned as it may have been 

regenerated several times. 

All regenerated units are despatched in a packing box and 

have sealing caps on the inlet/outlet. Any damage to box 

or vessels should be reported immediately to Aqua Cure.

PRIVATE WATER SUPPLIES 

There are more than half a million people in the UK whose only source of drinking water is from a private supply. These 

sources fall into one of three main categories: 

WELLS 

Most wells are aquifer-fed where water is provided from a relatively shallow underground source. 

SPRINGS OR STREAM 

This type of system is usually the simplest and consists in the main of a protected collecting chamber into which feed 

water is diverted before being delivered to a storage tank within the property. 

BOREHOLES 

Boreholes extract water from deeper levels than other sources. Using a rigid tube of 4” or 6” reaching down to the 

supply and a submersible pump at the base, they can operate in depths in excess of 150 feet. 

If you are unsure about the quality of your existing water supply, you can obtain a laboratory report from your local 

council, or an independent analytical company. A properly designed, installed and maintained system will give you 

years of clean, trouble-free water supply. 

DOMESTIC UV STERILISER SYSTEMS - TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION 

Aqua Cure water sterilisers employ a low-pressure mercury vapour discharge lamp surrounded by a water jacket whose 

inner wall is made from a special UVC-transparent quartz metal. The lamp produces a very strong spectral line at 254nm 

in the shortwave UVC region, which is the waveband most lethal to micro-organisms. 

The UV light shines powerfully through water passing along the unit, destroying the cell DNA (or RNA in the case of 

viruses) making the micro organisms inactive. 

Aqua Cure units use a stainless steel water chamber maximising full use of the available ultra-violet energy, resulting in 

long exposure times and high UV doses and minimising UV light absorption into the chamber wall.

TEST2 - Alkalinity, Total 

Alkalinity in water, also known as buffering capacity, is the 

combination of carbonate, bicarbonate and hydroxide 

ions. Now Aqua Cure TEST2 Total Alkalinity (TA) test 

strips provide the user with a quick dip-and-read system. 

With a wide range of detection, TEST2 is ideal for a variety 

of applications. Having all required reagents impregnated 

on the test strip pad ensures a minimum amount of 

error. Additionally, no powders, liquids, or test vessels are 

required, making the test ideal for use directly on site. 

Detection levels: TA: 0, 80, 120, 180, 240, 360 ppm (mg/l) pH: 6, 6.5, 7, 7.5, 8, 8.5, 9 

Test time: 25 seconds 

TEST3 - Hardness, Total (Ca +2 ) 

Calcium and magnesium are naturally occurring minerals responsible for water hardness. 

Hardness is a key water chemistry parameter and its control is important to help assure 

proper water quality. Low levels of calcium and magnesium (soft water) can contribute to 

problems of corrosive water. High cal-cium and magnesium levels, especially above 

300ppm, can lead to possible water clarity problems and scaling. Hardness levels can be 

determined by using a simple dip and read strip. Levels are standardised as calcium. 

Detection levels: 0, 40, 80, 120, 180, 250, 425, 1000 ppm (mg/l) or 0, 2, 5, 7, 11, 15, 25, 58 gpg 

Test time: 3 seconds 

TEST4 - Hydrogen Sulphide (S -2 ) 

Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S) is a flammable, poisonous gas with a characteristic 

rotten egg smell. Concentrations of 0.02 to 0.1 ppm are detectable by the 

average person. 

Hydrogen sulphide is evolved from numerous environmental sources such as 

bacterial decomposition of vegetable and animal material. It occurs naturally 

in many private water supplies.

Nitrates and nitrites are often found simultaneously in water and are by-products of biological 

decay and nitrogen decomposition. TEST5 Nitrate/Nitrite strips give the user a safe, 

accurate method for detecting levels in water. With the needed reagents impregnated on the 

strip pad, and no chemicals to add or mix, inaccurate results are minimised. 

Detection levels: NO3: 0, 0.5, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 ppm (mg/l) (as N) 

NO2: 0, 0.15, 0.3, 1, 1.5, 3, 10 ppm (mg/l) (as N) Test time: 1 minute 

TEST6 - Chlorine, Free & Total 

TEST6 Free and Total Chlorine strips give the user a safe, non-technical testing solution. 

Combining our unique indicator patent and aperture design, used in our Free Chlorine and 

Total Chlorine product, TEST6 strips require no additional chemicals or technical expertise. 

With all of the needed reagents precisely measured and impregnated on the strip pads, 

these strips are ideal for use on site. 

For monochloramine levels, simply subtract the free chlorine reading from the total chlorine 

reading. 

Detection levels: 0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.5, 1, 2.5, 5 ppm (mg/l) Test time: 10 seconds 

TEST8 - Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) 

Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) is one of the best oxidisers known; stronger than chlorine and 

chloride dioxide. 

Confirming that the desired concentration has been reached is easily done by dipping a 

TEST8 strip in the test solution for 5 seconds then comparing the blue colouration against 

the graduated scale on the pack. 

TEST8 strips can also be used to confirm that, after a disinfection, all the sanitising solution 

has been purged, by a clear reading on the strip. 

For specific high concentration peroxide applications - please ask for information on TEST7.
